Maybe but it's boring.

And did St George use the same methods of exploiting the system as the Chooks are supposedly doing today?

Maybe the players back then just wanted to play for a great club (of the time).

Not having a go, just a genuine enquiry.

The NRL won’t be around in 15 years as a major competition. It won’t last it’s the most imbalanced competition that has a salary cap I can think of in terms of talent distribution.

I agreed with you until this part. EPL and NFL have a salary cap technically and they aren't balanced at all.

AFL isnt balanced, you have the same super clubs around the top.

If St George winning 11 straight didn't kill rugby league, a few years of Roosters will not.

And they were the NSWRL darlings at the time - refs cheated to keep that record chugging along.

MLB have a tax threshold which if you go over it, you pay X amount which gets distributed to the lower market teams

I get a sense that the general NRL public is just waking up to Politis and his cronies and they will be exposed for what they are; cheats!! Go Raiders!!

What about the Broncos? Obviously noone at the NRL understand conflict of interest. Apart from the fact that News Ltd own the Broncos and fox, can someone explain how people like Corey Parker and Justin Hodges (who can't get through a sentence) are being paid to commentate on the NRL?
I suppose the bar is set pretty low with nufties like Bwiath & Gasnier being paid to dribble on air for an extended period.

I agree with all of what you say, but not on Gasnier, he is quite good at reading play, and I don’t mind listening to him, the rest as you say, suck

Agreed..Gaz is one of the few good ones.

AFL have had four different clubs win the GF in the past 5 years. They have clubs who are strong for four years than dip, like Hawthorn and Brisbane. In the NRL we have the Chooks and Storm every year

@2005magic V'Landy's was CEO of the "red hots" also known as Harold Park trotting and he certainly did a job on that. Much cleaner now.

Vlandys will be the best thing that's hit the NRL....he doesn't put up with wankers and fools, watch out Mr greenburg

Just read in The Australian that V'Landys is from the same Greek island as Politis and that Politis supported him for the job - although they don't know each other well.

Greenburg may have something to watch out for, but I'm not sure the Chooks will.

yep, he and his side kick the chief steward Murrihy put a broom through the shonky practices and underhand deals at the red hots. Maybe he should be Murrihy to head the integrity and salary cap units?

roosters have been strong, but as well as having more premierships than us, they also have won the wooden spoon more times than us in our merged history.....

I must be one of the very few who think not much will change with a new chairman.

The ‘independent’ commission is far from independent and the handful of powerful NRL clubs just won’t put up with major change.

Waiting patiently to be proved wrong.

In the last 10 completed seasons Roosters included places of 11th, 13th, 15th and wooden spoon.

Only the Storm are genuinely at the top for extended periods.

They have never won the wooden spoon under Politis' watch. If i am correct the Roosters most recent wooden was around 1967 when I think they failed to win a match all season.

2009 the last time and 1966 the time before that.

His company has sponsored Easts ( Roosters ) since 1976.

Politis has been chairman since 1993.

@Russell Yes you are correct. 1966 was a watershed moment because the Roosters never won a match all season. In 2009 they won seven matches but still won the wooden spoon. By the way in 2009 Wests Tigers finished 9th - some things never change.
