Would be a decent choice imo
She is a successful business person who, I would very much doubt, would be interested in such a position .... let alone reentering the NRL snake pit.
Probably not but Go would be a refreshing change.

Pretty big side don't you think..
For a CEO to miss manage a companies finances will see most CEO's stand down...the fact he held off on paying into the players Super fund now leaving the NRL a debt when the money could have been paid yearly is pretty unforgivable..The Media had absolutely zero to do with that..
When hasn’t the NRL been bad financially? He did just as bad with the money as any other CEO except he managed to grow the game internationally. Like I said I’m not fussed on who’s CEO but the media pushed very hard for this and got their way.
Guess what all those other CEO's are gone too...
None of the other CEO's had the luxury of the biggest broadcast deal in the history of Rugby League....
And every future CEO will get knifed and booted too, that’s the way it works. Whoever this new CEO is will be hated within six months of starting and eventually the media will go after him and he’ll be gone. Then the cycle continues. Biggest broadcast deal doesn’t mean much when the cost for literally everything else also goes up too

For sure when the CEO..introduces Committee after Committee like a 6 man refs committee to decide who the ref will be that week..costs go up..
You have not addressed anything to do with Greenburg's pathetic management..just oh it's the media's fault..
I’ve said plenty of times I don’t think he did some fantastic job. I’m not trying to defend him for the bad choices he did make like spending too much on the bunker or the diamond ring to Smiths wife. He certainly wasn’t some fantastic CEO who ran the joint brilliantly he made some big mistakes money wise.
My point is so has every other CEO, and the media used this global pandemic to push him out, they run the game and hold far more power than they should. The next CEO will make big promises and fail to deliver and the cycle will continue. Doesn’t worry me too much as long as there’s footy.

After the way she was treated at Wests I doubt she'd ever get involved again, and I wouldn't blame her.

So are you saying he would still be in the job ..even though he was doing a terrible job..if it wasn't for the Media and the Global Pandemic..
Toddles card was marked as early as February when he had a clause to extend his contract for 2 years..Vlandy's pulled the pin on those meetings and negotiations..if anything the Pandemic shortly after added a couple of months to his tenure..

Disagree - this has been coming for a long, long time. You cannot be disliked by so many people if you have been doing the right thing.
V'landys sussed him out, real quick and with holding funds from the clubs, when discovered was the final nail in the coffin.
What I want to know is how he was allowed to resign with so much dignity - why wasn't he sacked and disgraced like he should have been.
A'holes always seem to get away things.

@jirskyr said in [GREENBERG GONE\.\.\.\.\.](/post/1144475) said:I agree to some extent with Josh, I am not a Greenberg fan but the reality is that people have been dissatisfied with the CEO's (or equivalent) performance since rugby league existed.
Rugby League has been squandering opportunities and dealing with in-fighting since 1908, and it wasn't going to change on Greenberg's watch.
His main failing I think is that he was easy to dislike. Your average mug punter wouldn't honestly have any clue whether or not Greeberg was a good CEO, they wouldn't even know what the CEO's KPIs were and how he was performing against those. Mug punters only absorb the "at surface" items like "I didn't like the bunker" or "refs are doing a bad job" and then pointing back at the CEO.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a mug punter too, but I won't claim to know if Greenberg was actually any good at his job. All I can say is he lost the popularity contest.
All this other stuff, e.g. the cost of running the NRL - that's just reality of big income. Sure head office could have been more cost-effective in squirreling away funds, but that is true of any management and most of them spend within their means (i.e. if their means grow, so do their spending).
Similarly look at any given club and how much money they spend on non-player salaries since the salary cap was bumped up over the last 2 broadcast deals.
This latest report about missing funds, we are talking very small sums here. Certainly the accounting needs to be 100% accurate, but it's not enough to topple a CEO, and I'd challenge anyone to be certain that no other missing funds ever occurred within rugby league headquarters or any other state branch.
So keep in mind this almost excessive "fan celebration" in regards to Greenberg in 3-4 years when the next bloke has gotten his hands dirty and rugby league hasn't magically been fixed or cured of it's historical ills.
