Josh is 100% on. Every club’s supporter base believe they’re victims.

Any examples of reasons why Roosters, Souths, Broncos or Storm would feel victimised? We can go through the validity of their claims.?

Ask their fans. I’m not the one claiming they’re victimised

Any supporters of these clubs who whinge about their treatment deserve to be heartily laughed at. They're protected species.

And not just in Rugby League, it occurs in every pro sport competition on the world. There are people that believe in the NFL that there isn't just bias but that the competition is rigged!

Brandy has suggested that Toovey could be the one (https://www.sportingnews.com/au/league/news/nrl-coronavirus-ceo-todd-greenberg-peter-vlandys-greg-alexander-geoff-toovey-rugby-league-2020/1lgp7p9mtmoq81y21x5fgmcgfc).

Not gonna lie, I'm gonna miss everyone hating on ole Todd on this forum 😢

There’ll be a new whipping boy soon enough.

Or, heaven forbid, the new bloke might actually be competent and do the job properly?
That'd be ok.

Only one team can win the comp so there will always be 15 other supporter bases complaining it's not fair.

I don't think so. Realistic people can generally accept the fact that a handful of clubs have no chance of winning a premiership (like WT) this season due to a poor playing roster competing against clubs loaded with superstars. Some clubs have got the money (both legit and under-the-table) and some get by with sub-standard rosters.
People won't cop administration dealing out double-standards between clubs however. Nor they should.
Hopefully the double-standards issue is rectified in the years ahead or else we will just have an EPL-like comp where the same 4 teams are the only genuine chances of winning the title every year. If it gets to that stage I'll walk away from RL, there's no interest in a lopsided comp like that.

Unfortunately mate every footy fan thinks their club has it rough. Every fan base is full of people thinking the NRL doesn’t want them to win, it’ll always be that way no matter who the CEO is.

Footy fans are stupid, Souths fans think they get targeted even though Todd wrote a reference for GI. Storm fans complain about getting hard done by even when Smiths wife gets diamond earrings. It’ll always be that way especially because the media love creating drama

In what way do Souths fans think they're targeted though?
Roosters fans wouldn't have anything to complain about either. Their club gets the red carpet treatment. Same could be said for the Broncos.
Hopefully the new CEO finds a way to eliminate perceived bias towards certain clubs. That's how he/she would earn a massive amount of respect and support from the average RL fan.

I’ve seen Souths fans whinge about burgess getting suspended all the time and that it’s because the NRL hates him. It’s dumb and makes no sense but that’s what they think. Roosters think the same about JWH. Broncos the same about TPJ. People love making excuses and blaming the NRL because it’s the easiest thing to do and the media pushes it

It’s near impossible to eliminate perceived bias towards clubs. Footy fans are too stupid. People still think refs are out to get their teams on purpose etc. it’s a problem that will always exist

Souths fans whinging about Burgess repeatedly getting suspended? Gee whiz, look at his rap sheet of offences during his time in the NRL- he should have spent triple the amount of time on the sidelines than he did. Not to mention his 'work' off-field with that lady over the internet. That went completely unpunished.
Roosters complaining about JWH getting repeatedly suspended? He is in the same boat as Burgess, repeat offender who without a doubt has been extremely "lucky" at the judiciary. The incident with him and Liam Knight last year being a glaring example.
TPJ is just a thug who constantly and cowardly attacks blokes' heads (mostly when they are down and defenceless), he will see plenty more time on the sidelines if he continues his ways. Nothing to complain about there for Donkeys fans.

Yeah you’re spot on mate. But those fans still think they’re targeted by the NRL. People will always think it no matter what even if they’re a successful club with a CEO who loves them

Still think Ikin would go ok, he speaks common sense.
Jimmy Smith always seems to hit the nail on the head as well when he talks. Not saying that makes him CEO material though.
A RL man who has played the game, understands it, and can think using common sense and unbiased, measured reasoning. Can't be that hard to find can it?
Bwaiff, Sammy B and Greg Inglis combined perhaps? There wouldn't be enough brain matter between those 3 to fill a shot-glass.....

No to Toovey from me.

He has a club affiliation and no experience.

That's not entirely true, he is a qualified accountant and was on the board of the NRMA, so has some experience, just not a lot!

Freddie Fittler made some interesting comments today re Greenberg. He does make a good point re clubs pointing finger at head office and particularly Greenberg over missing thousands when they've been burning millions for years and years. I mean how any club can receive $13M per annum and $4M over the salary cap and still lose hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars per year.

Also Raelene Castle just re-signed, so it's sporting head bloodshed this week.

We manage to eat our own in this game': Fittler takes aim at wasteful NRL clubs
By Laine Clark

Brad Fittler believes former NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg can walk away with his head held high, saying "incredible" club spending contributed to the game's financial plight exposed by the coronavirus crisis.

After months of speculation that he was losing support, broadcast partner Channel Nine's explosive attack accusing the NRL of mismanagement appeared to be a catalyst for Greenberg 's resignation on Monday.

But NSW coach Fittler said "impatient" clubs should have been held accountable before the finger was pointed at Greenberg over the NRL's precarious financial position during the pandemic shutdown.

"We manage to eat our own in this game and we just don't stop," Fittler told 2GB Radio.

"You've got to say, (Greenberg) has been held accountable for the whole finance of the game and what everyone looked back and thought was quite poor running of the game.

"When you look at the clubs and the amount of money wasted on their CEOs and their bosses going in and out of the clubs, it's incredible.

"The amount of wastage we have in this game. There's an absolute lack of patience going on at the moment."

Fittler's comments come days after a News Corp report revealed NRL clubs had lost a combined $31 million in 2019 despite annual grants from the governing body from the lucrative broadcast agreement.

A report had also claimed there had been 100 different CEOs and chairs in the last five years among the clubs, contributing to excessive spending.

Fittler felt for Greenberg, saying the former NRL boss should be proud of what he achieved during his four-year tenure.

"I think everyone would agree that Todd's always stood up and he's answered all the big questions," he said.

"I think the finances of the game have been what tipped him over the edge, but there's some things that he's done (that have been) fantastic.

"The growth of the women's game has been on his watch and I think that's probably been the most exciting thing that's happened in footy in the last couple of years.

"He can walk away with his head held high."

Fittlers comments just show that he is employed by public enemy number 1 CH 9 and will do whatever they tell him.

That seems quite the opposite of the 9 agenda if you read above..about them wanting Todd gone..
