Greg Inglis

Greg Inglis set to switch to five-eighth. I honestly can't wait. If you've watched Dylan Walker play there, Inglis will be similar, except he'll make all their set moves clunky as hell. Watch him shape to pass, realise he screwed the move and just try to bash his way through the line.

And it'll probably work. If he finds form then his running style and his fend in full flow are as great a pleasure to watch a rugby league fan can ever ask for. He may absent sometimes but class is permanent. So yeah, maybe he's not an immortal but GI will certainly go down as the greatest freak of our era.

There was a time when he was a real threat. Now it's rare he worries teams at all. I don't think the Blues are too worried about him anymore either.

With their rugby league intelligence levels you are probably right. Can't wait to see him destroy them yet again…

Honestly though, can't remember the last time Inglis stood out in an Origin game. Qld may very well beat NSW but Inglis won't be the player winning them the game/series, he feeds off some other great players who do the special things.

Especially at centre. Morris covers him very well.

There was a story going around in 2014/15 that he had a congenital hip problem that will probably curtail his career and needs game to game management,i haven't seen it mentioned by League journo's this year.

Playing busted like Souths which is great to see just quietly

As long as they continue to play busted, we win…By not constantly being subjected to " The Pride of the League nonsense" and not having to see the Burgess bros and mum shoved in front of the cameras every game.

I laugh when I hear that pride of the league rubbish as well, no team is bigger than the game.

Really? Bloody hell every time he has a poor game Gus Gould says "Inglis is playing injured tonight", "GI is not right physically today" and endless other pathetic excuses to shift the blame from his favourite pet goanna to someone else. Gould comes up with every friggin reason under the sun to justify useless performances from him, it is nauseating TBH.
Fact is, Inglis is a good player when he is on a team that is powering over the opposition….....throw him the footy on his own goal line when his team is copping a pummelling and he nearly looks to throw it over the fence. Or check out his defence, whether his team is winning or losing....its poor at best- on a bad day it borders on embarrassing.
Great player to have on your team when the sun is shining on your arse, but when ticker and leadership are needed under trying circumstances it is "GREG, WHERE ARE YOOUUUUU?"

Although I agree re gould.

Inglis is a star. He gets them out of trouble regularly and is a good defender in general.

He does have work rate issues, but no player is perfect.

IMO his defence is very ordinary to say the least. The amount of times he chooses not to put his body on the line when he is coming across in cover defence is phenomenal, he won't take on the attacker body to body- he runs straight past them into touch whilst throwing a wishful arm out in the hope that he might dislodge the ball on the way through. He always does this.
For such a big fella his highlights usually show him getting over the top of physically small blokes ie Soward, Coote and Robertson from Manly who he fended off when he scored in GF '07\. Very very rarely does he mix it with the big dogs on the field.
