Indefinate Knee Injury… hmm might do him the world of good to be off for a while.

Moops!

Think Moors is playing, he wasn't named in NSW cup so either 18th man or playing. If it's true about Groat I'd say he's definitely playing first grade.

Gee tough break for the kid.

I may not have had him in my squad for the NRL this week but I did want him to continue developing with good minutes.

Adding it all together we really were the walking wounded and out of interchanges on Sunday. Please note that is said for perspective not as an excuse for the capitulation

Since when does a knee injury do any player "the world of good"? :unamused:

I think Moors should be ahead of him, but Groat's injury doesn't help his development.

Getting a full time job at a Aldi would help groats development. Serious pretender. Would rather Gibbs or fifita

Thats a pathetic statement….lets hope you dont get a serious injury any time soon eh?

How does an injury help a young players development? Must be a full moon tonight, lot of craziness on WTF this evening :crazy

Exactly - Groat needs constant match conditioning to build his motor. A knee injury is a major setback in his development.

I've been taken out of context here guys - I probably wasn't so clear, as I was constantly refreshing at the time waiting for the Team to be posted, and was a tad succinct.

My bad.

I'm not saying the injury directly is going to do him good. Yeah that's a setback alright.

I'm saying the time away might build some more hunger in him, and mentally toughen him, and clear out any niggles he has in his system. Groat has the tools, but as it plays out seems to be lacking confidence or fitness, or here's a thought - his more lateral movement and inability to pierce the line might be due to this injury possibly being ongoing over the 8 weeks.

Rest it out, get 100% fit. Get angry. Get Focused and then rip into it again. Get any niggles out of the system Groat, and prove the naysayers (myself included) wrong.

Thinly veiled threat mate? Pretty sure that kind of stuff is against forum rules.

He is 20 years old. I'm glad you don't make decisions at the tigers.

This kid has just turned 20, is trying hard to play in a high profile team in the front row, in the toughest competition in the world and people are giving it to him.

Seems there is no room for error here. Groat is going ok, as Swordy just said he is 20, playing in a tough position. There aren't many props who at the age of 20 were at their best, in fact I'd say 1 percent of props play their best footy early. Give him a go! I understand the need for results in this day and age but come on. With development and patience the Tigers could end up with 2 of the best young props in the comp with Woods and Groat and could develop into the best props in the comp in a few years time!

One thing is that it'll give Moors a decent crack at NRL, nearly all on this forum (me included) think he'll do well. It's up to you now Junior.
