Do you think the Panthers on the lookout for someone to replace Wallace is a motivation for the comment?

It's a crock and the defensive stats are wrong.. move along. nothing to see here people

Their defence stats last week were Brooks 4 mt
Moses 7 m t
11 between them

Why do some here close your eyes to reality, most of us all wanted and still want, these two to succeed, as the club refuses to play anyone else there.
Them going better is the only way we can improve overall
But let's blame the media, their defence stats are rigged, it's all the refs fault.
There's been excuse after excuse made for them this year.
Maybe if one of them had been brought up to F/G, things would pprobably have been different and at least one of them would have had a better chance of developing more. But this club wanted their quick fix and went with both, and what we have is the result.
As for the report on what Gus said ,
It isn't a crock at all, it's exactly what he said, and other good judges such as Andrew Johns ,
has also stepped back from his original assessment of them in the early part of the season.
It's not their fault that they were pushed into first grade,
But they certainly aren't anywhere near what was predicted of them at the start of the year

Agree 100% - I hate to harp on it but if we had of kept Austin for the final year of his contract I think we would have seen an entirely different scenario. Brooks would have a more experienced player calling the shots as well and had this year as second string to learn the ropes. Moses could have been used as a 14 in a number of games to ease him into FG and our right side defence would have been a lot more solid. We have let a lot of players go but whoever signed off on this one obviously didn't give much thought to what they were doing.

Gould wants Moses at 7 instead of Wallace in a year or two. He is planting the seed in Moses' head so he takes Penrith offer when it comes.

Well I reckon if Moses wasn't Bennys relation,he would be developing in State cup and Austin would have been helping Brooks find his feet in the NRL…but go on give me the Austin is a hog and Moses is such a brilliant player..hang on in NYC...this is NRL and the New board, particularly with the help of knucklehead MAYER we opted to put 2 lambs to the slaughter at the same time, because they will be our FUTURE whatever's...

Not knocking any of the kids, but realistically you have to gradually bleed the young blood, not together in a world completely different to what they had been used to..
Now I will wait patiently for everybody to bag the hell out of me for saying what I feel should have happened..
I wish the young guns all the best, and I hope the asylum can keep them beyond the end of their contracts...because really all they want to do is play football and WIN...

They dont really commplement each other, plus two rookies at once isnt the ideal set up

I agree, I'm not seeing much of a combination between them. I'm sure they have shown this coming through the juniors, but in FG it's a different story. It may well be the structures Taylor is trying to implement are not working for them, but they need to do something to sort the problem out sooner rather than later, if that means giving the ball a bit more air, so be it. The season is gone, so now is the time to experiment and see what does work.

Moses would be playing NRL with nearly all other clubs. The difference is with most other clubs their respective coaches would surround him with experience players such as Beau Scott or Alex Glenn. We don't have that luxury. To me he is an extremely skilful and tough player with excellent vision and pace. Your comment about Benny Elias is irrelevant and unwarranted.

They need time Moses is not a halfback at all. He is actually more of a fullback/5/8 Hybrid in my view.
The issue is he is a fly weight and needs to Bulk up in Tijuana in the offseason.

Seems to me Moses has more of the 5/8 running and passing game and Brooks the more traditional halfback approach with a good running game also.

The fact they can also interchange is surely a bonus.

Until they have quality players outside them, how can you really judge their potential or their progress as playmakers??

Spot on GOTT.
You still need good players around you to set people up.
Centres have been a swinging door - really helps building a combination outside you.

The horse has bolted DP. :deadhorse:

Really need to get over this.

Ben Elias has nothing to do with Mitchell Moses being at the Wests Tigers TT…in fact Benny has had nothing to do with WT at all for years except a rent-a-quote or 2 in the telecrap from time to time...in fact it's about due...

Absolute madness, give these two kids a few seasons and a few kilos, they are very young and whilst they may not become immortals, they may do very well in a team of hard running forwards and a sharp back line. These type of articles will definitely not make them better. Look at Hodgkin, very boring player yet consistent and can tackle and gets selected for SOS, I think our boys are more gifted than Trent that's for sure hence give them some time.

So, who would be your halfback or 5/8? Would you put Moses to fullback and Teddy to center? Personally I would give it a try.

No good putting crap on people without an alternative.

There's no way I would move our main , and at times, our only game breaker from his best position, certainly not to accomodate a still unproven ( in first grade) 5/8
At the start of the season Drinkwater was one of our best performers in the trials, he was solid in his game and also defended well and had a good kicking game. Yes they were only trials, but neither of the kids stood out in them
There's no way that I would have had both of them in at once, as you know, so Drinkwater could have moved to 5/8 and Brooks left at Half
Drinkwater would've handled the switch well enough. And he would not have had to play a blinder every week to at least equal anything that has happened there so far this season
Instead he hasn't been given a chance until recently when the team has clocked off for the year.
He would have also improved our right side defence, which has been terrible for a few reasons
Taylor's only tactics for the 5/8for most of the year, was to kick on the 5th tackle .
So it would not have been too hard to live up to that,
Moses could have been brought on at stages in selected games to give him some time to get the feel of first grade( as would have been the case at most clubs) without the pressure he's been under all this season
So I hope that's an answer for you Col. I wasn't putting crap on anyone. I was just stating the bloody obvious, that they're not at the standard that was expected of them,
And saying that I agree completely with Gus's assessment of them,
But it's still only an opinion.
