we need NRL proven talents
I generally agree with your often insightful comments Josh, but let's try and put the Harry/Jake/Liddle thing in context.
Liddle is 23, 24 in October - made his debut when he was 19 1/2. Up until then, he had no proven NRL experience.
Harry is 22, 23 in February - made his 5 minute debut when he was 20, but then not again for just 1 appearance (off the bench) in 2019. Hardly "Proven NRL experience"
Simpkin is 19, 20 in October. No debut yet but is reaching a similar age when the other lads NRL careers kicked off.
Tellingly Harry's age may be a clue to his success against grown men.

That extra year of nurturing in the QLD cup versus the pressure Liddle faced in the NRL may be the difference. So, biding his time can't hurt Simpkin who is with us to the end of 2022.
Even if Harry moves on, Simpkin at age 20 next year will be stronger and will have no doubt benefitted from training with Harry & Lids. And with a pack boasting some very formidable big bodies in Stefano, Twal, Aloiai, Mikaele, Blore & Leilua, an early debut, following a full Madge Pre Season under his belt, may just have been the plan all along.
