Harry Grant

“Lucky he’s staying at the Storm. Unlucky Tigers” - Munster with Harry standing right next to him. I’m surprised the bet wetters haven’t been all over that.

I think we need to move on from the Harry Grant love fest. He doesn't play for the Tigers anymore as is unlikely to at any time in the future and is now part of the Queensland grub fest.

Are we so desperate for a hero we are clinging on to other teams players.

No not really celtic...it was just great to have a fine quality player be with us this year, wear our jumper with pride, make friends here, fans loved him and now watch his career blossom....he totally deserves all the accolades for being a humble and very talented young man...

HOW BLOODY GOOD IS HE!!! I absolutely love watching him play and a massive man crush in the way he does everything.

Now about who's responsible- I'd say it's Harry mainly as he has all the right qualities. A bigger shout out to Storm for developing him over the last 2-3 years. As for how much input we had, I think it's naive to take any credit away from the Storm and Harry himself. We simply gave him an opportunity. I'm sure Madge and the team guided him along the way and can take a little credit but that's it.

What we got in return is the "the year we had Harrgy G playing for us" and still finished 11th.

Liddle, Simpkin, Friend and even Cook- not in the same postcode.

Fair play, each to there own but I wonder if the prevailing view will still be the same the first time he carves us up for the Storm.

I've got my concerns for the health of Harry .....he was struggling with his hand at times and I wonder whether that was a pec injury as well

The way he defends will take a toll on his body ..he won't be playing when he is 38 lets put it that way

Great player but there is a downside. Physically he was gone by the end of the season. He came up with some poor options as well from trying too hard. There were some hog plays that didn't come off.

He looked like he was carrying a bunch of injuries and he hasn't played for a while. It's really hard to have a hooker who plays all season 80 minutes a game and their bodies hold up.

Agree witht he dev part but not sure about the postcodes comparison - the others would dominate if they had the same situation as last night. Helps when the pigs are making opportunities for him to exploit, which he did very well.

I guess he won't be carrying 16 blokes next season either ...but it justs shows how amazing Smith is ...bit like the old Stretch Armstrong dolls from the 80's

offer Harry a tamalolou type deal 900k a season for 6 or 8 years
move liddles 350k on from 2022
have simpkin as the understudy

Ahh so we’re back here. Ignoring the fact he has a contract for 2 more years.

I said before the GF from the contact I had we would not get JAC and the money offered would go towards Harry for 2022 so we will see.
Contract mean nothing as we have seen with Matterson and now Josh A

Contracts work fine IF you are prepared to enforce your rights. Useless if you aren't. Our Chairman has made it pretty clear we will be insisting Aloiai fulfils his contract obligations in 2021 unless we are adequately compensated for his loss.

He changed the course of Origin for the next 10 years last night. Everyone thought the Blues would cruise the next few years because QLD’s stocks were thin. Harry can carry them. As bad as QLD’s squad was this series, they are going to have stronger squads over the next few years and Harry will run amok.

At Melbourne he will be fine where he won’t have to carry the entire team on his shoulders

If you thought he was good this year, watch him become even better around quality players. It’s a scary sight

Gotta remember Queensland still have Fifita, Brimson and Ponga to come back aswell...probably a couple others I can’t remember off the top of my head

With the exception of Tedesco at fullback, I reckon Queensland’s spine schools NSWs big time

Brimson/Ponga (one will be utility imo)
Munster
DCE
Grant

The biggest problem with NSW is they rarely pick a decent coach. If bellamy,Robitson,Holbrooke,Hasler etc been coach , we would have won all three. Its always the boys club,Daley,Fittler, when will they wake up that the biggest game in NRL should have the best coach?

Bellamy tried it and got whitewashed i believe.

Difference is its not like a club game, its about getting 5% 10% more out of your players.
Think Bellamy is the best coach but he doesn't 'get' origin (like NSW)

I have DCE edging Cleary for now, only due to the fact he’s actually had more success. Could change in 5 years time though

Grant played an excellent game and is probably the best hooker in the comp right now, bar Smith. Having said that, I am more than happy with Liddle taking over the reins next season, and I'm even more excited about Simpkin. I feel he could turn out to be better than Harry.

Grant will be a thorn in the Blues side for a decade or more.

If Qld can win a series with arguably their weakest side, what are they going to do when all their guns are back?

Loved him in his debut season and now his first origin performance - it only solidified how special a talent he is.
Well done to the Tigers for their role (in support of establishing) his NRL career, there's no doubt Storm have developed another fierce competitor and we'll be watching him, at this level, for many years to come.

Am excited to see how Robbie goes with helping our boys now. Liddle was so good coming back from injury and I hope the club can now help propel his growth and (a somewhat disrupted) career furthermore.

Future captain at club and every rep level. From outside looking in he seems like a very balanced mature young man. Great asset wherever he goes.
