Lots of statements where he says how good he is. Not my kettle of fish. Imagine talking to him in the pub. If not for his money you'd tell him to get off himself.
Has loads of money yet hoards it whilst people die that he could help with as little outlay as us dropping a five cent coin.
Who gets ownership when he dies? The fella is already in his 80s. A condition would need to cover where the club goes upon his death (perhaps to members).

Haha !!!!
There's always one isn't there …. as Willow said, 99% on here want the best outcome for Wests Tigers .... You must be part of the 1% who want to turn a good discussion into a bun fight.
And there's a very simple solution to those that want to turn this into a Balmain V Wests tirade. Hopefully I don't have to ban anyone over this, so consider yourself warned Tigerspirit. Thankfully just about everyone on here is using their commonsense in discussing what is a very topical issue.
What I find frustrating to hear now is that Wests may have been held back from investing money into the JV because of a binding agreement with Balmain, who are on the verge of extinction. Whilst I previously supported Balmain, I'm 100% behind Wests Tigers and simply want to see the club be able to compete in the player market for top talent, and have the infrastructure and facilities which enable it to be a premier club.

Can anyone confirm who the new major Sponsor for 2016 is?

Wonder has he moved on?
And if a club like ours which is a JV between 2 historical clubs changes to perhaps become successful for a private owner whats the point?
Did Wests and Balmain and all of us just fund and support the club just for someone to buy it cheap?

Last I heard (Maybe 5-6 years ago) the Dogs get a 4mil a year grant from the leagues club. We have never got that kind of money from 2 Leagues clubs - At any time. And more than likely never will.
We have one of the lowest memberships in the game.
It's not like we're a 1 team town. There's 6+ clubs within a stones throw..
To evolve we need to play with the big boys, To do that we need the big boys money…
Even Ashfield as a stand alone owner, (Which I'm all for if it helps the club) Would struggle to compete with the $$$$ of Penrith, Parra and the Dogs.
We have some of the most attractive "Franchise Players" coming through in the game, We need to capitalise while we can.
So, Harry - Let's put some lipstick on this Pig and turn it into the sleeping giant of Sydney.
I once heard, We all have ideas' we're just lacking the capitol.....

There we go again, back to Balmain and Wests, neither of which foundation clubs exist anymore but you still won't let it go. For all intents and purposes the leagues clubs from both sides are doing diddlysquat for the Wests Tigers. Balmain are bantherfodder and Wests are seemingly restrained from injecting funds until Balmain either bite the dust or somehow manage to settle their debts.
The point is we want the club to be successful. At the moment we are not and there's simply no sugar coating that - our finals record speaks for itself. It's disastrous and unacceptable - Many fans on here are sick of it. We're not competitive in the player market, our facilities suck and we lack resources.
Do you not want to support a team that regularly makes the finals? So many fans are sick of the team losing and missing out on the finals year after year. With private ownership, first class facilities and the genuine ability to recruit top players the club could really transform itself into a powerful rugby league entity. Is this likely to happen if our current business ownership continues? Most likely not.
And why would the club be cheap? That last point is fairly irrelevant, the history of both clubs won't be forgotten but hanging onto the past will not make us successful in the future.

For the record - he won't be providing TPAs. Given his long association with WT, there's no way the NRL would view Meriton as a separate, independent entity.
