Has this year been a success?

Considering theres 8 weeks to go before the seasons over, and this question is being asked now…I think it answers itself.

Would Souths, Saints Melb etc be asking this question?

There you have it....

You can argue the defence has improved, which it did at the start of the year, but the last few weeks its fallen back into the same standard it was under previous coaches. But the attack just isn't there. So while the defence may have improved, the attack has regressed. So i don't think we've improved or gotten worse, just gone sideways.

We have performed to the best of our ability. I cant name a team ahead of us on the table that has a weaker roster than ours so we are where we should be as far as Im concerned.

Off the field our recruitment continues to be our biggest challenge and until we get that right we will struggle on the field.

Break out stars like : Byron Bay Fan, Hobbo and the crowd favourite happy Tiger.

Forum superstar Demps driving the powerhouse forum into first place, beating out plodders like the kennel, marathon stadium and collosal disappointment League Unlimited.

Vice captains Milky and Tacky also played a big part into the undefeated season, taking over for Geo (career ending injury) and Kul (retired) whilst tiresome hard work from veteran users like InnsaneInk and Spartan also contributed.

I think Demps is the MCK of the forum

We've done this topic to death already.
Some think the season is a success but it's rubbish.
No finals = failure.
No teams starts a season and says "our goal is coast in the bottom 4 and no finals for us".

Fail Fail Fail.

Absolute rubbish , not making the 8 after how many years ?

We only need to win half our games :unamused:

At the start of every year i keep convincing myself that this year is going to be different for whatever reason ???

As it stands, overall, apart from some early defensive efforts, we have been an abject failure.

On field wise, I can't agree with most of the comparisons with the last few years either. Taylor may not have been the best coach, but he and his predecessor in Potter were in a similar position to that of Dean Pay at the dogs this year. Little or no say in the roster and no bloody hope.

Off field, well it seems that management is kicking some goals, but that will mean jack if there is continuing lack of success on the paddock. Six years without a finals appearance and counting.

One of the miracles of modern rugby league is that we are yet to be spooners. Parra are literally the only thing saving us, I think even the dogs could catch us the way we are playing.

Any hope I had died two weeks ago at Leichhardt. The bye was great.

Only success if you make the finals.
Anything else doesn't count.
No use being a woulda, coulda, shoulda team.
Just do it.

Make the finals = successful

Don't make the finals = failure

Simple.

Overall I'm happy with the direction that the club is heading in but some of the players are not first grade standard and we need to restock the squad.

The fact we are 6 points out of the 8 and some consider that a success is just…

Low expectations. That’s all I will say.

1st third - we over achieved
2nd third - absolute trash
3rd third - who knows.

Spot on.

I think the failure of the last few months has far outweighed the success of the first month.
