Has this year been a success?

It’s a mixed bag for me. We are where I expected mid table. Neither good nor bad.
Our signings are mixed Reynolds, McQueen injured. Packer, Matulino just get a pass mark for the entire season great at the start average currently. Rochow, MWZ, Tui very poor. Biggest positives Brooks, Lawrence, Twal, Thompson and Fonua.
Mbye looks a class above our group and we
Need to continue. More important than how we finish the season is 6 players we sign for next season and also 2020.

I think it's been a success for [www.weststigersforum.com](http://www.weststigersforum.com)

Break out stars like : Byron Bay Fan, Hobbo and the crowd favourite happy Tiger.

Forum superstar Demps driving the powerhouse forum into first place, beating out plodders like the kennel, marathon stadium and collosal disappointment League Unlimited.

Vice captains Milky and Tacky also played a big part into the undefeated season, taking over for Geo (career ending injury) and Kul (retired) whilst tiresome hard work from veteran users like InnsaneInk and Spartan also contributed.

I think Demps is the MCK of the forum

? Is that a bad thing? Feels like it is.

Thats the highest compliment you can receive :master:

Lost a lot of interest after the soft way they finished off last week.

Hard to call anything a success when its June and we are done and dusted already

Let's look at the numbers.

Compared to the end of 2016, we're scoring 5.7 points less per game but we're also conceding 6.9 points less per game.

At this stage, I wouldn't call it a success, To be successful in the NRL, both metrics have to improve.

To make the top 8 we need to win 6-7 of the remaining 8 rounds. On form so far this is unlikely.

I'm grading this season a C.

As it stands, overall, apart from some early defensive efforts, we have been an abject failure.

On field wise, I can't agree with most of the comparisons with the last few years either. Taylor may not have been the best coach, but he and his predecessor in Potter were in a similar position to that of Dean Pay at the dogs this year. Little or no say in the roster and no bloody hope.

Off field, well it seems that management is kicking some goals, but that will mean jack if there is continuing lack of success on the paddock. Six years without a finals appearance and counting.

I see what you mean but I reckon you can’t get on-field results without having a solid front office. It’s a bit like turning round a Mack truck, it is going to take time. Given where we came from in terms of off field distractions, it’s a tick.

Regarding on-field performances, If we improve on last year’s table position (8-10), I won’t be happy but will acknowledge they are going in the right direction. Next year however I believe will be the pivotal season, a top eight position will be expected and key signings that set up our future will also be required.

I give them a C+ so far.

No, it hasn't been a success unless we make the finals. That has to be the starting point for success for a club in our position. Then we aim for top 4 and winning. For now it starts with simply making the finals and having a shot at the title.

It's been an improvement, we're more competitive and have improved off field.

The team has freshened up with a two week break whilst Dragon have been busy playing. Lets see how the team goes this weekend.

8 rounds to go, and we play Saints and Souths twice each. I wouldn't even bet we'll win 4 based on the last couple of months.

I fear it's going to look very much a fail by season end.

We are the 8th club in history to win 5 of the first 6 games and miss the finals. This season has been a plane crash

Is that from 1908 harvey? Dropping from that start to 6th is one thing, dropping from that start to 9th (at best) is terrible.

We only has one loss from our first 6 in 2000 aswell. Not 5 from 6 but 4 and a draw. We're great sprinters.

We must have done something to win those 5 games and I don't think it was taking steroids. I think that it was stretching talent and enthusiasm to the limit in those first games. It is not something that a team can sustain for the full season if it hasn't the talent. Like many are saying, "two class second rowers and two class centres" will do the trick. Let's hope Wests Tigers open up the purse strings and purchase these player to play season 2019\. Waiting until season following 2019 is just too late as we would more than likely miss the bus competing for players..

I think it was we were ready to go, while other sides were looking at a long season.

As the season progressed other sides improved, while we went backwards

With teams like Parra and the Dogs looking better over the last couple weeks, we’re a realistic chance of a bottom 4 finish if we don’t stop the rot.

Quick flick through the Juro curve will show it’s buisness as usual
