Hastings has good pass selection. Bring sheens back as coach

What has one what got to do with the other? Both are coming, but don’t get too disappointed.

Sheens was coaching the all star game.

One game is not a season and I know you do, but I don’t think he is our saviour.

We are looking at a Brooks Hastings partnership.

So if Doueihi stays at centre, surely between Gilardt, Roberts, AJ, Cini, and Talau we have *somebody * who can lock down the other centre position.

I have high hopes for Gildart! I like how he plays. Very direct and attacking minded

What is his current injury

I thought he just came back from injury

that was a shoulder

Thank God he isn't injury prone .....

Looks like he is the type we need.
Hoping it works out … we need a positive story.

Gee, I must have had rose coloured glasses on because my take was Hastings showed the leadership and kicking game that Brooks has been unable to achieve over 8 years

Yes, I agree that he looks like a good game manager.

I was responding to a comment that he was solid in defence. I was disappointed with his defensive efforts for England's first two tries. That's all.

Eyeballing the highlights and his interview my impression is he is almost the opposite of Brooks. He is not quick and his defence is weakish but he has a very good kicking game, is loud on the field and obviously a leader. He is not Nathan Cleary. Will be fascinating to see whether his mix of skills better fits the squad than brooks obvious talent but lack of the intangibles. It’s clear Hastings will be competing for the 7.

So what happens to our 2 most expensive players (Brooks and Mbye)?

I see Doueihi as a centre (I think he is very good there) and either Brooks or Mbye at 6, with the other as the 14? If Mbye is still with us?

As long as brooksy can handle someone wanting to actually lead the team around it should work alright

Shut up man . Seriously . It’s getting old . Brooks has been the best player on the field the last 5 weeks . It’s not his fault , when AD is out , the right side turns into a big massive turd , that lets in 50 points a game .

I remember once we played a team , they made a line break down the other side of the field from the 30m , I chased them hard to tackle their strike centre on the goal line , holding him up , with help from our half . I was busted after , as I was a big boy at the time .
You know how my backs respected that play ? The following scrum ,which I packed down in , They let thier small winger from the other side of the field stroll in , in the corner . I looked up to see all my effort , was just a waste of time .Sometimes it doesn’t matter what you do .

I don't. I'd prefer:

1. Laurie
4. Doueihi
6. Brooks
7. Hastings

Some other club: Mbye

King Doeihie fans , i think will be dissapointed.

Brooks -- 7
Hastings -- 6
Laurie-- 1-- short term.
AD - centre -- short term --14 when mbye goes.

Doueihi won't be going to 14, he will be starting somewhere. He's one of our best players. Don't see Laurie getting moved either

Surely when the next Reece Walsh style talent comes along they will end up at the tigers. The rest of the comp pretty much all have superstar fullbacks. Gus always said Laurie is a 6

I think Laurie is a very good fullback, he's prettt safe under the high ball, has a good running game and his attack is getting better and better. Don't see any reason to move him, he's a good young talent and still has so much development to come

So long as our pack continues to improve, he will improve.
Many seem to think the new generation of superstars should be dominating from the get go, but they need at least a full season behind them. Ponga is a good example, looked ok but not spectacular for the Cowboys. Killed it for Knights the following year
