I've had one AZ jab and am in the previously recommended 12 week gap between jabs. The new recommendation is to reduce the gap to 6 weeks which comes up in about 2 weeks. I'm considering whether or not to reduce the gap. I had an off day after the jab but it wasn't too bad at all.

Getting my second AZ jab tomorrow, three weeks early (9 weeks after 1st). Got an email last night from my GP recommending early 2nd dose, so I am doing it.

Getting my 2nd tomorrow also.... A week early
Glad to get it outta the way.
Was a bit rough the day after my first jab.... Missus calls it 'feeling low batt'

I had my first Pfizer on 28 June and second next Monday 19 July.

Apart from a sore arm for a day no side affects.

After my first jab I had a headache for a couple of days but that’s all.

Im not against it, I get the yearly Flu shot each year through my employer..

I'm just happy for others that are more needing to get it first.

Yes, but am not able to due to health complications.

Same here. My Dr has advised me not to get AZ. As I'm 62 I'm not eligible for Pfizer.

I would happily get Pfizer now, or AZ if the Dr said it was OK. It's not very reassuring that I can't get vaccinated when I live in a 'hot-zone'.

I've emailed him today to see if any of the recent changes to policy may change his views.

I had both Pfizer shots
Second shot felt a bit sick for a few days but glad I have had it

Sick in what way Jedi?

I was lethargic and had no energy at all for like 2 days with headaches
My wife is a nurse and about 30 of her colleagues couldn't attend next shift following the second vaccination.
However I know others who have had it and fine they say 50 % can have mild issues but if what I felt is even a little bit of covid then I am glad I have had the vaccination
I dont want to deter anyone from getting the vaccination though as I was only really tired and sick for 2 days then all good

When you talk to him, ask him about Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective) if you cant get the jab.

1st Shot of AZ 6 weeks ago..Due 2nd shot 24th August

Rang Dr today after Chant said you can get after 6 weeks..he advised you can but the 12 week gap is recommended by the manufacturer.. so I'll wait..

Working from home for the time being so no plans to go out apart from essential medical appointments ..which means I postponed the Dentist.. woo hoo..small miracles..

Any reason given by your Dr? If it is not something pressing I would be seeking a 2nd opinion if I was in a hot zone.

I have heard that the 2 vaccines are different. AZ it is the first that will knock you arounf a bit, Pfizer it is the 2nd.

I have not....

My work has advised it MAY become mandatory however waiting on the advice from government.

Work in mental health / community services.

I'm not an anti vaxer, never had a flu shot though and rarely get sick.

I'd be happy to roll the dice and go without but if I don't have a choice, then I'll have to be getting it..

Not how it works mate.

Vaccination does 3 things:
(1) reduces your chance of getting COVID
(2) reduces your chance of getting seriously ill from COVID
(3) reduces the chance you pass COVID onto someone else

So maybe you can roll the dice yourself and there's good odds you'd be OK. However the odds aren't THAT good - 10% of delta variants in the current outbreak are being hospitalised, and 2.5% ending up in ICU.

So potentially 1/10 chance you end up in hospital, if you get it.

But if you do get it, because it's so contagious (they are saying R = 5), you are likely to give it to 5 other people - elderly relatives, friends, other family, co-workers. So likely to infect at least 5 others, and the govt is seeing entire households getting infected every time there's one seeding source.

The more COVID there is in the community, the more chance of (a) mutations, and (b) giving it even to vaccinated people.

Think of vaccinations like a game of chance - if you are vaccinated and exposed to COVID a handful of times you have pretty good odds of not getting it. However if you expose yourself repeatedly and consistently to high doses, your risk increases. That's true of any disease - if you walk past someone with common cold you are a decent chance of not getting ill, but if they cough in your mouth 20 times you are very high risk. I'm being silly of course, but that's how the risk changes over time.

Best result, forget business, travel, economy... best result is everyone gets vaccinated, everyone has a very low chance of getting COVID, COVID stays very low in the community because everyone is resistant.

If you can please trust me on one thing, it's this - I am a drug development professional by trade, I've been doing it for 20 years.

Got my first shot of AZ this afternoon. Have been trying to book Pfizer for the last couple of weeks & can't get in before September. Don't want to wait that long.

Keep a close eye on yourself the next 3 weeks, any unusual pains in body go straight to Doctor

Yep, my wife is the nurse that gave it to me. She gave me the speech about headaches that won't go away, pains in my calf etc, etc.

my wife who is a nurse and sometimes works at the vaccine clinic seems to think the AZ reaction is pretty mild compared to Pfizer, I was fortunate as a spouse of front-line worker I was able to get the Pfizer about a month ago
