Whats a class centre worth?

What would we pay James Roberts?

Will Chambers?

BJ Leilua?

Euan Aitken?

Hard question these days.

Unemployed Hayne skips Eels training

Jarryd Hayne will be a notable no-show at the start of Parramatta preseason training on Thursday, as the two-time Dally M Medalist trains solo in preparation for the 2019 NRL season.

The reigning wooden-spooners return to training early along with three other NRL clubs and are struggling to put together an attractive offer to keep Hayne at the club, with **the ex-NFL** **star** reportedly asking for an upgrade to his contract in the vicinity of $700,000 a season.

Parramatta is looking to move players around to have enough money in the salary cap to give Hayne the money he wants.

Eels coach Brad Arthur confirmed Hayne won’t be present at the start of preseason training but still expressed a desire to have the ex-NFL star in his squad.

“He is not contracted so he won’t be there (for the first day of training),” Arthur told News Corp. “Obviously we want him at the club. He wants to be here. It is just about working things out.”“He is not going to play for $100,000,” he added. “It is just making sure what works for him works for us. I hope (he stays) but I don’t know. Honestly, I have no idea.
“He knows what he needs to do to get his body right.

“We don’t want it to go too long because then it does start to become a problem. We need to know one way or another pretty soon.”

Veteran centre Michael Jennings is said to be one of the players the club is trying to offload in a bid to keep Hayne.

Has journalism sunk this low.

His career highlight was a gain of 7 yards when he lined up running back one time. Sort of like calling Michael Jordon an ex-MLB Star.

The fact he’s still without a contract should tell you something. Even Marshall, with all his flaws has a contract.

It tells me clubs are balking at his asking price, which is no surprise. I'm sure there are plenty of clubs that would take the risk on him at $400K or so but he's holding out for a lot more than that. He was genuinely good for the whole 2nd half of last season. Nothing like the dross he turned out in 2017 and early 2018 when nobody would've been interested in him.

I've got no problem if we're not interested in him, he's clearly a risky proposition because his attitude could go to crap at any moment and he could destabilise the playing group (especially if he's on big money). He was though a genuine strike weapon in the latter half of last year and we and other clubs like the Dragons lack that in our backs at the moment.

My better half sold a car recently. It was on the market for ages. She finally faced facts and dropped the asking price. It sold almost immediately. But at least it ran well when you pushed the accelerator.

A big no thanks for Hayne. He is long past his best and isn't worth anywhere near what he is asking (he used to be worth $700k but not anymore and I hope we realise this before wasting money on him). Plus, he isn't the personality we want at our club. A few years ago at post origin presso, I was talking to a few sponsors (werent big fans of his) as he is apparently rude to most people including fans which fits in with the 'no D head' policy the blues are now pushing. Go the the superleague if you want the cash.

THIS. POLICY. DOES. NOT. EXIST.

Marshall has a Market value contract. He still has tons to offer the Wests Tigers.

Hayne is for some reason expecting a salary based on his 2009 Market appraisal.

The Goods on offer are not in the same condition, Technologies has evolved and the Market has moved on.

Ps - who knows he may change his calling in life in the next 12 minutes.

MASSIVE No Thanks - I really hope that the WT Management is taking note of overwhelming fan sentiment on this issue.

They're not going to sign him, don't worry. It's just a hypothetical debate to occupy us in the off season.

It doesn't ? It seemed to this year.

Has the club ever made it public they have this policy in place? Seems to me like it’s no more of a policy here than it is at any other club.

It only covered the players in 2018, the coaches position had a huge peanut filling the role.

If you weren't so quick to jump onto someone you'd see he said the blues.
