Hayne

Disagree Flip. Mortimer in 85 falling to the ground was genuine emotion. Hayne just reeked of being a glory hound.

Fair enough GNR, we see it differently. It just looked to me like Hayne was running down the time when ran back to the dead ball line, which seems to be a bit of a trend in the game these days, not so much in the old days and Mortimer didn't have the ball in his hands at the end of that series. Anyway, I guess people celebrate in different ways, but the way guys like Usain Bolt and many of the NFL players carry on - now they do really seem to think they are God!

Put yourself in his shoes and just try to imagine the adrenalin pumping through his body at that very moment and then you will understand his actions. Mate i was playing infront of 80 people in a junior GF and scored a try after being down 18-0, all i wanted to do was just run and jump into the crowd of family and friends, i can only imagine how he must of been feeling infront of 85,000 people. His allowed to do what ever he wants when he is the champion player he is anyway. I've had a decent conversation with the guy and he is one of the most down to earth people you will meet. I don't think anyone in the NRL goes over the top with their post-try celebrations to be honest. You just have to look at soccer, basketball and nfl players to see how humble the players in our code really are.

Who said anything about wanting players to be robots. He just irks me, just like i'm sure there are things and people that irk everyone thats commented.

That's very true and you are entitled to be irked and we are entitled to disagree

GNR, there's only one thing about Hayne that should tick you off: the fact that he grew up in Leumeah, played his junior rugby league for Campbelltown, but ended up playing for the Eels instead of the Tigers in the NRL. I shake my head in disbelief every time I think about that. Folau and (to a lesser degree) Inu, also.

He's allowed to be a lair, he's one of the best players going around and at the top of his game. Lairing it up probably adds to his performance.

They all gravitate to Cabra, gun players to a huge club
