Yep . It should be mandated by the nrl or nswrl . That and liquor and gaming mandating that the debenture system is unacceptable in 2025 . Both those things would be enough to stop all this shit forever . You wouldn’t need to axe anyone from HBG . The Ashfield members , who would consist of a vast majority of wests tigers members would do it for you .

Apparently that's half the reason they got rid of the independent directors.. they wanted to do exactly this.. and the HBG didn't like the idea of giving up the magpies in NSW cup

Manipulating a contract to help with salary cap trouble is very different from loaning your employer, the one who pays you, money. Doesn't make sense

Vicious just does not seem to comprehend that this is exactly the problem… that after 15 years of disaster changes were made that resulted in improved results and that despite (or because of) this the HBG group blew up the recommendations and changes that were implemented.. @Vicious had always been a sincere and passionate poster with definitive opinions that demonstrated a clear knowledge of rugby league and the Wests Tigers which makes his posts in this thread all the more surprising…

blows my mind how this day and age a debenture system is allowed to exist.
Don't quote me but from memory ,the debenture system was the norm back in the day when a few business men from the local district built a fancy tin shed and called it a club.
Once they got their return back and then some ,they turned it over to a general member vote /as a part of charging membership in the 1st place.
Think that was what was explained to me many many moons ago

If the NRL say they don’t have jurisdiction to intervene you then have the right to be very unhappy and take whatever action you feel is appropriate.
So our appalling record over the past 15 years is solely the blame of HBG, but our improved results last year that everyone keeps mentioning had nothing to do with them ? They are at fault for bad results, but play no part of improved or good results ?

Yeah, notreally mate, if they had a contract and deferred payment in any way in order to free up immediate cashflow in order for the club to meet immediate financial obligations then by definition they loaned the club money…even though it may have been just an accounting adjustment it was something they agreed to to help the club at a time it required help…. Coincidentally Farahs 9 predecessor also made an arrangement with his former club but back door managed to arrange terms that benefited him geatly when he secured the collateral agreed to as security for the loan in case of default…. 🧐😉
