HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

is that a possibility? would be best case scenario hey if the nrl take over.
Yeah of course. If the club decides to offer him a position and he accepts, then nothing to stop 2 parties agreeing to terms.

For that to happen, I'm sure Richo would want an independent board at a minimum. He may not want anything to do with HBG if they are still involved though.

This is where we will lose out big time. No one will want to be part of a club with them at the helm. We'll be a pass through organisation for people to work at until they get something better.

Full of other people's rejects.

I wonder how the families of Wests and Balmain legends Keith Holman and Keith Barnes feel about HBG. Maybe it is time for a rebrand in honour of modern day Wests Tigers legends. Hopoate Burgess Group has a ring to it. Let's vote on it, oh wait ...
Can you change your avatar please mate? Worried I might punch my monitor.

Richo will be gone this coming week , he will arrange a settlement and walk away and nrl won’t investigate . That is my prediction

No one wants the nrl to investigate , because if they investigate , won’t be just about governance it will be the whole shebang. At that point they will see more shit than just hbg being incompetent , it’s likely just as ALL NRL clubs, when it comes to signing players and TPAS etc , it wouldn’t pass the pub test in corporate or other businesses … exhibit a Matt Moylan and James Maloney swap … if Maloney didn’t blab on radio they would have swapped tpa providers and that is with Penrith having well known board members and well known GM at the time.

NRL don’t want to know about dodgy shit done by clubs so they won’t investigate , they will say a few words of platitudes to you all and move along

wdym? hbg gave him a deadline of tomorrow and then leaked his replacement. he’s been backed into a corner

They punted the independents knowing Richo was gone - that was a condition of him choosing to stay in the job from the outset.

Only way he stays if HBG reinstated and agreed to not get involved moving forward - which we know won’t happen.

I can’t really argue with you about how the future might be looking here … assume Richo goes and HBG keep running the joint …what are you gunna do ?

"As a distant observer, it seems to me there is a continued desire to bring back Wests Magpies at all costs, including the destruction of Wests Tigers if necessary,” Barnier said on Tuesday

PVL - if he is serious about protecting the WTs fans there can be no more clear warning than that supported by recent events. How much evidence do you need from numerous sources that have worked within the club before taking this seriously.

They are a despicable organization wasting club funds to pay off people/ contracts who get in the way of their agenda along with creating narratives to smear them to justify their actions. They are at odds with WTs fans who want the club to achieve and wind up the Magpie fans who still think they are chance of returning as a single entity. The abuse of power as imposters - masquerading as supporters of WTs is sickening.

I don't think the noise will go away until something changes. How big or small that is remains to be seen.

How these buffoons thought there wouldn't be a huge backlash is puzzling, but they've never been renowned for their foresight, so maybe I gave them too much credit.

Burgess and co have had their prints all over every mess at board level, so they won't be able to handle any lasting change. Until they go, we will only ever get a season or 2 of peace and hope in amongst dramas like this.

Yeah … I think they would rather destroy the club out of spite if they can’t get their own way unfortunately…..

I know this isn’t directed at me but I’ve actually been thinking about this for the past week now.

Personally unless Richo stays (snowflakes chance in hell of that happening), the independents are reinstated (same chance), the debenture system is changed and HBG members are allowed to vote who runs the club, or the NRL appoints administrators I’d probably stop supporting.

I cannot continue to see flogs and scummy debenture holders continue ruining the club because they’re bored, or delusional, or incompetent.

I would never support another club. I love the Wests Tigers more than I love the game. And I [This word has been automatically removed]ing love the game.

But if we get another board full of HBG puppets or reps, useless CEO’s of the calibre of Mestrov (who ran Manly into the [This word has been automatically removed]ing ground btw backing Seibold and Moses managed players), or another Pascoe then there’s no hope for us.

I’ll fight tooth and nail to stop that from happening but I cannot see us surviving let alone being successful under a fully HBG controlled board and club.

Departing Manly CEO Tony Mestrov expected to replace Shane Richardson as Tigers chief executive

Departing Manly CEO Tony Mestrov is expected to replace Shane Richardson as chief executive at the Tigers. It comes amid a stall in negotiations of a payout between Richardson and the club.

The first step in trying to reunite a fractured Wests Tigers will begin on Monday with Manly’s Tony Mestrov expected to replace Shane Richardson as the club’s new chief executive.

It was originally felt Mestrov - who will formally leave as Manly CEO on December 19 - would be interim Wests Tigers CEO but this masthead has been told the appointment could now be permanent.

Manly’s CEO for more than three years, Mestrov will be asked to take his no-nonsense approach into the challenging Wests Tigers job.

His first role will be to mend a divided club haemorrhaging from political infighting between stakeholders Wests and Balmain.

Mestrov could not be contacted for comment on Sunday afternoon.

It is understood Richardson and the club are locked in tense negotiations around a termination payout.

Richardson is fighting allegations around his alleged conduct at the club as the NRL integrity unit investigates information that two members of Richardson’s family worked at Wests Tigers.

Sources also claim a whistleblower has come forward to express concerns about club money that was paid to a company called Enrichd, a marketing, branding and digital consultancy company Richardson part-owns with his son, Brent.

Richardson is seeking a seven-figure payout but negotiations have stalled with talks becoming strained.

He is fiercely denying any wrongdoing.

“Talks between ‘Richo’ and the club over his payout have become nasty,” said one well-placed source. “But ‘Richo’ is pretty shrewd.

“Given what is happening, no-one has confidence in the club.”

Speculation is rife that senior figures inside Wests Tigers refused to keep the Holman Barnes Group, who essentially finance the club, informed of key decisions.

A former Manly and Souths prop, Mestrov will likely join Wests Tigers unaware who will be his chairman at the club.

Former club chairman Barry O’Farrell was rolled last week along with three other independent directors as the Wests’ side of the dysfunctional joint venture wrestles back control of the club.

Wests Tigers fans are filthy at the latest drama and are planning protest walks to voice their anger.

Balmain legend Steve Roach has expressed his thoughts about the club’s constant dramas, saying: “It’s horribly disappointing for the fans, mate. I feel for them.

“Just as they are starting to see a little bit of light, this happens. It’s destabilising and a shambles.

“And how are you going to attract players if this is happening? Who would go there if they are ‘blueing’ all the time? What happens in (Jahream) Bula leaves?

“I’d like the NRL to step in and get the club in order. Maybe take over or put people in there.”

Mestrov will be replaced as Manly CEO in the New Year by former Sea Eagles forward Jason King.

Mate I hope you are right … it’s still early days … I would have liked to have seen stronger initial plays from the Govt department and PVL…. Maybe they are prepared to let it play out for a bit but tick tick on player decisions ..
Compiling information and making careful decisions can be slower than a wet week, not ideal for us but if we get a good result we will have to wait, as excruciating as it will be.

I hear you. Manly underachieved with a great roster…
