HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Most likely one of there own will be fitted for the role …it’s looks like winning football games continues to be low priority for them though …

Look I’m guessing like everybody else but I think it’s possible that the four independent board members will be replaced by four new independent members or a combination of existing and new independents.
In my opinion that is in the best interests of the club.
If I believe Paton and I tend to believe him the real issue was communication and overreach by the WT board into decisions they were not authorised to make. I wonder how well the agreement was documented that told the WT board what decisions it had control of and what decisions it should refer up. I suspect it was badly drafted and a source of confusion for all.
The only think I’m still totally confused about it what the hell the two HBG members on the WT board were doing. Surely they must have known the WT board they were sitting on were exceeding their brief.
If anyone deserved to be sacked it was those two.

This goes against the HBG statement... They said they want more control...

I think It'll either be a reinstatement of those sacked or nothing at all

Richo has said openly and often that he needed full autonomy to do his job. Hell he called them turkeys and blazer wearers. Even I thought that might land him in hot water.

But he gets results.

Isn’t that what HBG need/want?

Yeah, I doubt it too.

So all 4 independent directors who had no prior affiliation and are experienced operators in their own right ,,,have all over reached over these past 10 months ? If there was confusion over the documentation of their authority ( no doubt HBG’s documents) , shouldn’t they have been warned instead of dismissed ?

Agree totally, iv got an email chain going with them where iv hammered them for allowing it to get to this point, for sending the game overseas when they can't even look after it properly here. I said all they're going to do is create more disappointed fans like the ones that support the Wests Tigers because the N.R.L were more concerned with expansion than those who have been supporting it for decades. Told them they're as guilty as HBG that because of their weakness suits like at HBG have been getting away with using the Tigers as their own personal play thing. I asked how removing the independants from the board after the first year in a decade where the club is profitable and stable off field and players are beginning to perform on field is good for the game. How can the N.R.L or HBG justify the boardroom cleanout? Why are the 2 board members from HBG on Wests board left and the independants sent packing when HBG openly stated a lack of consultancy on issues. The two people responsible were left alone and the independants were sent packing. Where's the justification? Told them the main thing is that no one gets called a monkey on the field that's the priority. The boardroom infighting and corruption isn't really a problem. All I got was the same automated response I got on my email prior. So I replied pull your thumbs out your arses and finally do something about it then.

So why didn't he sack the whole board and not just the independents who from their perspective were functioning as a united front
 
Unfortunately I also think Richo is gone

I remember a number of his statements re the iron clad assurances he had received from HBG in regard to the implementation of the review and the appointment of the independent board.

He could not possibly work with HBG with any confidence (possibly why the clauses were in his contract as a safety net given HBG history)

To HBG - Wouldn’t you look at yourself and go, I’ve f$&ked this up for 15 years now, maybe I’m not needed in the running of the club?
