Meanwhile, I was wondering - where did that young blonde lad who did last year's Comedy video of the upcoming draw end up? When Ray Warren's son (Chris?) left the club for Manly, I fully expected the kid to take over as the lead media face for the club. Then when Behind The Roar restarted this year, it just stopped when it kinda never really got going. One week it was the kid then it was TIm Grant then Apps and then nothing. Something definitely happened during the dare I say it - the Galvin exit period! I mean, we got more video from Terrell Davis May than the club during the season.

I reckon the answer, my friends, is whistleblowing in the wind.

Edit - yes I know there were plenty of BTR episodes later but they were part of the anniversary of us not being in the 8.

I use to be concerned about private investors but at this point any option would be better. I can't see it happening because the mob that hold the power have nothing to sell - re their is no personal benefit to the people who are in control. And unless the NRL enforces something to change the governance structure of the licence, my continued support for this club is like self inflicted torture. The hate is real.

I think what needs to happen at this point is to register an Incorporated Association (https://www.acnc.gov.au/for-chariti...ty/charity-subtypes/incorporated-associations) and build an independent WT fan association.

The more organised the fans are, the more media, NRL and the owners, whoever they end up being, will listen.

It's the natural progression to all this and if you want a say, you pay your membership and you get a vote. Being a non-profit, you can direct any extras to junior league, schools or whatever.

The biggest thing is you remove any cynicism around one group of fans having a voice, but are essentially unelected. Majority agree with what the guys are doing, but it carries more weight if you can say the fans voted for this officially...we are united.

Vlandys statement really misses the point. Need to email him to point out it's the removal of HBG that is crucial in the club moving forward. Saving the name without removing HBG will do little to keep me on board this train-wreck.

He doesn't see wests going south. He is a director of Wests Ashfield and I suspect the HBG group want to keep the club in that area.

After reading this I cannot see how HBG havnt breached the agreement they made when implementing the independant directors. If this is accurate then Wests Tigers should be calling in lawyers.

A few things can help us now …

1 Viola, Williams & McDowell pursuing legal action against their dismissal (has the mentioned in the news they are looking into it).

2 Former HBG directors all dismissed Gilbert, Wayde, Andrecchio & Romero coming forward now against the HBG (worry is they may be gagged due to any of their own legal action against HBG).

3 HBG debenture holder John Hardgrove leading a coup against the HBG cabal. (he has previously spoken out about the dysfunction & poor treatment of other HBG directors).

4 Official complaints made via HBG official channels about perceived bad behaviour of current directors. Look back and have a look at how trivial some of the complaints made against Wayde, Gilbert & Andrecchio were which led to long suspensions. So why can’t similar antics from the cabal be reported, investigated & if similar suspensions aren’t forthcoming, definite case for L&G to investigate again. Surely the exposure of Burgess’ follows on Instagram does not meet the professional code for directors given it’s in the public realm.

Just some suggestions, very possible they are all happening anyways.

the club has done a good job at re-engaging content creators who are WT fans back in. namely lachy mcintyre, matty g, lachie pring etc. they all already work in media. it’s a good way at capturing the younger audience that may already follow them to follow the club.

partly the reason i couldn’t care less if we paid more for richo’s son’s media company. because they’ve done such an excellent job at it so far.

If the individual shareholders run the club to the ground such as ours - are there any provisions for the shareholders to be held accountable Cochise? In other words is Denise Burgess untouchable?

As a Wests Tigers board member he should have got the same treatment as the four independent directors if the WT board was not communicating with HBG, how can he not be guilty of the “crime” ?

Vicious just does not seem to comprehend that this is exactly the problem… that after 15 years of disaster changes were made that resulted in improved results and that despite (or because of) this the HBG group blew up the recommendations and changes that were implemented.. @Vicious had always been a sincere and passionate poster with definitive opinions that demonstrated a clear knowledge of rugby league and the Wests Tigers which makes his posts in this thread all the more surprising…

That said, I don't think we have heard the real reason:
We have heard a rubbish excuse on the Jersey colour, I have no problem with hbg sticking up for the colours. But don't go wrecking the team over it! Plus all that should have been raised by the 2x HBG directors at the meetings.

We have also heard that the HBG board 'wasn't informed' of decisions around stadiums. Which is rubbish and the fault of the 2x HBG directors (unless those directors were not informed*).

Look I get it, when your Wests Ashfield you want your money Spent in Ashfield. The Croydon stadium upgrade makes sense, the C'town one is hard to justify as money spent on Ashfield. Our club though is bigger then one Pokie bastion in the inner city.

TLDR: This isn't a Balmain vs Wests thing, this is more likely a C'town vs Ashfield thing... But they are NOT saying that.


*this is actually a very serious board concern. Any decisions that involve significant amounts of money need to go to the entire board and be approved by the entire board.
^which makes me think this happened: Barry talks to state government/Ctown council and set's up the 50m stadium upgrade. They bring it to the board, people don't read the minutes. The 2x HBG directors get outvoted and the sour grapes occur.
^^Another scenario the 2x HBG directors were asleep/missing meetings. Everything was announced properly and they either miss the vote or get outvoted without doing their duty. in this case it's an utter failure of those 2 directors. ...

The only leway above is if the 2x HBG directors actually say 'the decision was never announced/notified', which I really doubt. Or Barry jumped the board and announced C'town without board approval (that's a fire Barry, not fire barry + 3 others). I doubt that happened.

Most likely the 2x HBG directors were getting their free lunches and tuning out during board meetings. Alll 100% their fault and their duty to raise their concerns.

Were not getting the full real reasons. I would really like to get the REAL reason behind this, even just to know if it's total rubbish or part rubbish. Overall very dissappointed that HBG choose to wreck the wests tigers over a petty argument.

Please god no. Looking up their profiles we have an olympian, a Lawyer and an Investment banker. They may have a fair case but this would ruin the Wests Tigers. The club would have to defend a massive multi million dollar lawsuit and then payout a multi million dollar lawsuit.

Also other then Williams, they have no real sporting knowledge.

These cases were settled in the last 2-3 days. At least I read reports that HBG settled some cases out of court.

Please do not loose your Wests Ashfield membership. If us Tigers fans keep our memberships we could roll them at an AGM.

Look, this will work but it will be judged internally by HBG and the board will appoint someone who is friends with Denis. Still give it a try if you have the time.
At the very least it will make their case look stupid.

Overall this is very sad. Wests Ashfield is a massive cash cow for the club, also a good employer of family of players and a way to bring job pathways for ex-nrl players.
If we have to cut them, we have to cut them. Yet as a club we already have cash flow problems and loosing HBG would suck. It would be good to roll the HBG board, they seem really stale like the RSL club boards everywhere. All over 50's and all sad men with nothing better to do.
