HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

@Vicious I have seen you lament the clubs failings over many years often laying the boot into the clubs poor roster construction & failure to make finals. I now ask you who has overseen all of this? And under what leadership structure did all of this happen under?
The board of course have to approve who is appointed to important positions such as CEO, Coach, Marquee players etc
I don’t know how anyone can say appointing Ivan Cleary or Michael Maguire coach were bad decisions. We were looking good under Ivan Cleary until he threw us under the bus, I fail to see how that is the fault of the board ?
Maguire was also a very good choice and he too started off well, before going backwards before he departed. I personally would have given him another 12months to turn it around, but the power of the voice of the majority of our fans forced his departure, yet sone of those sane fans now claim the board doesn’t listen to them ?
Justin Pascoe also had a very good resume including working for the Panthers, who was critical of him being appointed when it first happened ?
It’s all very well to point the finger in hindsight, but there has been plenty of good decisions that have been made, but did not go to plan.

Trivia question: In his autobiography which club did Ivan Cleary say he couldn’t see himself staying there long term because he felt the board weren’t united? And you must have a short memory because there was plenty of uproar amongst the fanbase when Madge was sacked.

I think the stark distinction is the board members were dismissed, whereas Richo resigned.
Other thing aswell as part of the licencing agreement management is part of the agreement in terms of required standard. Richo on the other hand was a contracted employee. So the N.R.L could request it but not much they could do to force the issue as HBG may just turn around and say it's an internal matter with a contracted salaried employee. If Richo was contracted by the Wests Tigers then the N.R.L could demand his reinstatement as well as Asic. HBG wouldn't be allowed to remove a ceo of a subsidiary without proper cause I'm assuming.

I reckon if the whole Benny Elias thing happened (which looks like it was happening before the NRL stept in) benji would of been gone
100% remember there's no doubt he would have brought Isaac Moses with him. Not in terms of only having one player here, but stacking the team with his players.

"they have played a large roll"--that's different to your original claim where you just said HBG.
So, if your assertion is correct, it means HBG are not totally responsible.
Who were the other perpetrators?
Now, take a deep breath, relax and tell the truth.
Are you ok with that?
Could you articulate what HBG actually is responsible for then?

Seems like they aren't to blame for any part of the clubs failings over the past 12 years. If that's the case as you say, what do they do all day?

It's not a fear of losing HBG, it's a matter of HBG holding on to what is rightly theirs and not let it be stolen by someone that has done nothing positive to deserve it.
What is HBGs. Wests Tigers belongs to the N.R.L, HBG "own" the licensing agreement to run the club. They are stewards on behalf of the game through the licensing agreement. Wests Tigers is not theirs.

Wests Tigers board member quits amid "sexually explicit" Instagram expose

By SEN

Death, taxes and chaos at the Wests Tigers.

Chairman of the Holman Barnes Group, Dennis Burgess, who serves on the board of the NRL club, has resigned from his position.

It comes just days after it was reported that Burgess followed hundreds of sexually explicit pages on Instagram, though he insists it is not the catalyst behind his decision to step away.

Using the handle "wildmandenny", more than 200 of the 4500 accounts Burgess follows on Instagram display inappropriate content.

“No-one has forced me out, it’s my decision," he told News Corp. “That Instagram page is a relic from my old music life.
“I haven’t touched it since 2017.

“To be clear, I wasn’t ever steering it – someone helping with promotions was driving the account and they likely followed just about everyone to boost the profile.
“Yeah sure, it really should’ve been a generic music handle rather than me, but to me it’s long since been forgotten.

“I wouldn’t say I was hacked, in the technical sense of the word. But I’ve sure been blindsided by it because I was not in control of it.
“At the end of the day, people have jumped on it and weaponised it for their own reasons.”

Burgess' resignation comes just days after the club sacked four board members before being forced to overturn their decision by the NRL.

CEO Shane Richardson was also removed from his position and the club, in the midst of the chaos and instability, looks set to hand Benji Marshall a new contract extending through to 2030.

Burgess has been a director of the Holman Barnes Group since 2001.
It was only in April this year that he was appointed as chairman of the Holman Barnes Group. He has also been serving as a chairman with the Western Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club.

In his professional life, the former singer has been the chairman of the Australian Songwriters Association since 2003.

With his services to the performing arts and the music industry, he was awarded a medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 2024

They don’t want to give WT’s independence. That’s the crux of the matter.
I actually agree to a certain point, If we had poor or impotent leadership like in the past then it can actually be worse.

I want the HBG to have more options than just a few debenture holders. Open Up the WT directorship to the Best and brightest.

Currently the HBG are all inbred.

Any idea who paid to have those identical 100 signs printed ?

And are you saying you didn't find a gaggle of blokes sporting Phillips jerseys at a WT Unite Rally - totally moronic?
Love how your crew jumps on and talks about denigrating Wests side of the venture, then you have an issue with Balmain jerseys. Spare us
