At least they still exist in some form> Its funny how i don't remember ever seeing any of this vitriol towards Wests Magpies when Balmain Tigers were fielding a team - there were no calls for a combined reserve team called Wests Tigers back then. If you are so pro Wests Tigers as you say you are why do you even care if Wests Magpies exists. Comes across as a giant sook that if Balmain Tigers don't exist anymore then Wests Magpies shouldn't exist either. Grow up and stop carrying on like a 2 yr old.

There have been calls for a Wests Tigers reserves team for over 10 years. This is not a new phenomenon.

You really just waffle on for the sake of it - there has been 1 year there was a Wests Tigers reserve grade side and it was immediately after Balmain Tigers demise. It lasted 1 year and reverted back to Wests Magpies. The calls to have reserve grade named Wests Tigers have been since then.

The Wests Tigers Board met on Monday, 15 December as part of its annual schedule of meetings.

The Club can confirm that independent Director, Barry O’Farrell has been reappointed and assumed the role of Chair, while Dennis Burgess has stepped down from his role as a Director.

The Wests Tigers would like thank Mr Burgess for his contribution to the Club throughout his tenure on the Board.

The Club will continue to work on elements of its governance structure in early-2026, prior to the commencement of the NRL and NRLW seasons.

The Wests Tigers Board will next meet in February and will not be making any further commentary on the matter until that time

Actually we were Wests Tigers in NSW Cup from 2013-2017. Once Magpies got majority ownership in 2015 or 16 I can’t remember exact they decided to go back to Magpies in 2018. I don’t know the exact reason why we were still WT in NSW Cup for a couple years when Magpies became majority owners. Maybe the agreement was until then I don’t know exactly. But we should be WT in Cup it’s been long enough.

I only threw the fish brain in because it seems to have become weststigers go to put down word. I thought he may have seen my mockery as a compliment but alas he replied with jelly head.

I've never had too many issues with the reserve grade side being the Magpies, but i feel I'm in the minority.

From a WT perspective on that one you would be. We should be WT from Flegg upwards. Majority of teams in NSW Cup play under the same banner in first grade we’re one of the few that don’t. Magpies and Balmain can be used for HM and SG but I don’t see the point of playing under Magpies in Cup.

Both insults provided good humour it can be entertaining taking a breath and reading.

This HBG stuff really has struck a nerve on here my stance is for the sake of the club they need to sell and let an owner with deeper pockets take over to let us grow.

If the condition of sale is to keep the Magpies jersey in reserve grade so be it, they've had their dig at it, new ideas from someone else needs to be deployed.

I used to follow the magpies before Wests Tigers - i only watch them now as a Wests Tigers reserve grade side - i bet half the people wanting them gone don't even watch or associate with reserve grade. i don't get what the gripe to get rid of them is about - changing the name is certainly not going to magically transform them in to a powerhouse of reserve grade.

It might be our players but it isn’t WT in Cup it’s a different name and a different team. It doesn’t show unity which is why I think 99% of people want us playing under WT in Cup. Can you honestly say you’ve seen a real big crowd under the Magpies name for us in Cup? I know I haven’t. But I haven’t been to every Cup game.
