HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

I’m hoping we will be very successful this year , top 8 for me , BUT it will have nothing to do with HBG , this year after what happened in December is on the team and coaches , not even our new interim CEO will have impact on this team , We were a complete unit in November led by Richo and the independent board , coaches , sponsors , medical the lot then along come HBG and blew it up , it took the CEO of the NRL to sort it out and lay down the law , even good old Dennis couldn’t hold his spot due to some very poor leadership from HBG , top 8: hear we come , thanks PVL for helping out
What happens this year is already predetermined by work completed over the past couple of years. What happened this preseason alone will hold little to no bearing. Decisions made to bring talent to this club - which will be what makes this season a success, will hold most of the weight.
How they perform in big games will be the deciding factor attributed to coaching.

Whilst a few self interested types are bleating to this empty thread from their shakey podcast pulpit, the squad continues to prepare for our round 2 start.
I’m interested to watch the narrative of this thread change as we progress into the season.…especially if this years squad are as successful as I’m predicting they will be.
I think they will be successful, that makes the HBG decision to remove those responsible for the first improvement at the club in a decade even poorer.

Bulldogs put in $9m in 2024.
We're behind them, that's one. You need to compare to all the clubs if you want to claim we are poorly funded.
Distraction tactic?

Are HBGout thinking that we're going to find a new owner that will buy the license for about $20mill then put in $9mill every year?

It's already been posted in this thread.

But I do agree, it's not the issue to focus on.

I think there was an offer of over double the $ 20 million by Bad boy Benny and his group to buy it and they said no , $ 20 million the club would be snapped up quick by plenty of groups / People

Should you mention the results of the investigation into his conduct? Or are you going to continue to argue dishonestly?

It's all in the public domain . He was even on the 7.30 report (or 4 Corners... Was one of those). And he didn't fight the claims, and resigned before a formal investigation could run its course.

The stories are horrible. He isn't the bloke you want NEAR the club. And this is the man that Tony and Rick seem to have gotten on closely with.

So why do you refuse to mention that the investigation found no wrongdoing towards him?

That doesn't diminish the amount. $20mill in grants should be enough to run the club before they even have to lift a finger in raising funds themselves.
I think this funding issue is just like 'they're brining back the magpies' and. ' we won't have a club in a couple of years'.

What did you call it? A distraction tactic?

The real issue is how they run the club and that should be the focus.

It’s not if you have aspirations of sustained success.

$20m in which probably 70% goes into salaries doesn’t leave much for travel, functions, football day activities, equipment & facilities and we haven’t even focused on NWRL & levels below NRL.

We are well underfunded if we want to be a force.

The issue is our dynamics.
Sure the owners put in very little as owners in the scheme of things. However we also start behind all the other clubs because we choose to play at badly equipped and inefficient costly stadiums.

Other clubs who play at the other stadiums get a massive difference in that alone.

It all adds up - if we want to play at those grounds then we need to offset the $$ via contributions somehow.

The contributions though isn’t a board makeup issue & wouldn’t be resolved by a change in board structure that’s a direct ownership decision of what they want to contribute.

Compared to the rest of the clubs? Or just some of them? I still havnt seen what other owners put in. If you think we are underfunded then you must know what every one else puts in..

And other clubs choose to play at modern stadiums to maximise revenue aswell. But fans draw a line at that source of revenue. I don't think we can turn our back on matchday/corporate revenues then whinge that we need a bigger handout.

It's a bit like turning down job offers then whinging that the dole isn't big enough.

That’s not the point I made.
All this noise, all this angst and drama, will likely mean Jack shit when the season gets underway.
That is when I’ll be interested to see what is said in here, to keep it going.

With a bit of luck their board will be put through the shredder by then, mission accomplished, a dim memory and looking forward to the footy with no annoying distractions.

Mods where are you... Someone's hacked Tuckers account 😅😅

Where do you think we will finish mate? Im thinking if it goes to plan, it'll be within the 6th-12th range. just depends on the luck in games with momentum and injuries.

That's great for you, my opinion is that the HBG can not provide us with the stability to ensure long term success. So I will continue to speak out until that is rectified.
