HBG takeover, Independent Directors Sacked

One thing that has been bothering me though about the wests tigers board makeup was the idea that the owners had veto power because they had more numbers on the board . I mean in principle that’s true , but I always felt like the Balmain delegate would have been more inclined to align themselves to the independents rather than HBG. So technically if Balmain is always aligned to independents just for arguments sake , they could easily vote to have the club sold to say Easts tigers , if they had full autonomy and control ( which they were gearing towards, it’s the real reason for the dismissal). It’s what @poopy_diaper was implying in his podcast .
I mean there’s a lot of assumptions there though. That Balmain would cut off its hand to spite its face , that the independents would be cool , let’s sell to a Brisbane club , etc .
But yea , if you’re clinging to power like Caesar at the fall of Rome , youre gonna be paranoid AF .

Agree mate . The issue isn’t HBG . I mean the name itself implies unity Holman and Barnes . The problem is , the actual humans who made those decisions got fired last year in one of Dennis’ coups . And then he white- anted Julie not long after. Some Game of thrones stuff right there.
The people now in charge arnt even acting in the best interest of HBG. They’re 💯 all in on themselves and Wests Magpies . And not even Wests Campbelltown . Purely wests magpies circa 1980s. So inner city wests magpies .
It couldn’t anymore niche and selfish IMO. Because of this a democratic process to have that board elected , and the removal of the debenture system would be fine . I think even Richo would be fine with that , as it would align with just about every other club who are owned and operated by a leagues club. Eg. The eels , panthers , bulldogs etc.

That is 💯 my opinion.
I do not care if HBG are removed, but I would like to think it’s done fairly, not just based on the actions of a couple of dodgy people who need to be removed.

Anyway it doesn’t matter, you are a passionate Wests Tigers supporter who only wants the best to for the club and the team moving forward and that’s what I want also.

Bringing back the Magpies would be one hell of a reality check for a few disillusioned fans I tell you!!

To be clear. With this latest development, I'm 100% certain the only way for the club to go forward is to kick HBG out.

If they are able to get their way and rebrand under any other logo, I'm out because that would signal that change is impossible. A club rebrand would be a disaster 25 years on not to mention a continuation of the debenture holders that have held the club hostage for so long.

While change is possible, I will support the team and push for new ownership. That is my agenda. What's yours? You like to comment and cherry pick to challenge, but you never lay your cards out...you're not being clever.

I agree with your position. I’m thinking the same way. Would love to see a Wests Tigers free of the ball and chain of the 20 debenture holders who care only for their self importance.

Referring to HBG simply as dysfunctional allows the suspected orchestrator of all this, to hide behind the veil of the HBG board, and entire group of debenture holders.

You guys with a voice need to apply pressure on the puppet master rather than allow them to hide behind the HBG board and DHs. While many directors have come and been turfed, they’re the constant on both HBG and WT boards for at least the last decade.

Simple things that just don’t get done to make Wests Tigers strong
Home jersey mainly black in 2025
Away jersey mainly orange in 2025
Switch around in 2026 it’s not hard
Reserve grade branded as Wests Tigers - so our juniors from both Wests and Balmain strive to move to the Wests Tigers top grades .
Members to be able to pay for membership of football club and vote who is on the board it’s the only way .
All current debenture holders to be given $ 300 for their current slot and be made to run for a spot on boards at Wests Ashfield , Magpies , and Wests Tigers , they go up against any other person who runs ,
The NRL installed to oversee all the changes required to get it done be it1 or 2 years doesn’t matter , also the NRL should stand candidates for the Wests Tigers Board to ensure Dennis and co don’t try and stack a vote which 100% they will do otherwise they would all be gone

HBG can not change the emblem. The licence is Wests Tigers and the NRL aren't going to allow that to change. Thats not my gripe - i can't stand the hypocrites on here who continually keep pushing its not a balmain vs wests thing and then in the next breath say they will walk away if there is no Balmain identity left. They are the same ones who continually abuse anyone who has the temerity to say anything good about the magpies. And yes i'm an old magpies supporter but i know they are never going to be back in the NRL. I'm also appalled at what HBG has done but level headed enough to at least wait and see how this all plays out before i rush off to buy a razor to slash my wrists. Most of my recent comments have been tongue in cheek because i am really having quite a laugh at a lot of the totally unhinged, manic and OTT rants on here.
