Apparently you can only discuss this topic if you don't like BW, so I will stop posting. Sorry for having a differing opinion.

Mate that’s bullshit and you need to be called out for it. You have clearly stated your case and belief over and over. That’s fine, that’s what forums are for, but you seem to have a lot of trouble accepting a large majority of forum members don’t agree with your opinion on this matter. They are entitled to their opinion just as much as you. The lack of atmosphere you describe at ANZ is exactly how I and no doubt others have felt at BW. Doesn’t make us or you wrong, it’s just opinion.

If there are so many vacant seats around you at ANZ then the club needs to address it as they are either spreading members too far apart or members aren’t turning up and they need to get them to the game.

I'll apologise, maybe I am letting some mental health issues seep into my reading of posts tonight. I have just had very clearly pointed out to me that I am doing the same offline as well. Again I apologise!

Hope you're OK mate.

I think the question is now when we make the finals in 6th and play Parra 7th…where do you want to play…

Bankwest or ANZ

Leichhardt.....

If we make the semis then the win is more important than the finances in this instance. Leichhardt Oval for sure if it’s our venue pick.
(But does it have to be a stadium?)

What are you going to do with the other 25,000 that can’t get in?

Have you seen the crowds during week 1 of semis? But yeah a Tigers eels game could fetch that type of crowd. In that case cram 17000 tigers supporters into Leichhardt and send the eels supporters to bankwest to watch it on the big screen!

We may have felt different about Bankwest if results went our way.

I must admit it is a great footy stadium but as a tigers fan, LO and CO feel like home grounds. I would rather we lobby for a stadium at Campbelltown and play our home games from there and some at LO than Parra.

Leichhardt and Campbeltown.

Fans walk away from tonight's game wanting to come back. After watching the last four games at Bankwest, how much of a relief was it to come home? An actual home game.

It is ridiculous to play games away from our home grounds.

Make it happen O'Farrell and Pascoe!

The point isn't that more people come to games (which they do) when they play at Leichhardt. The point is about the vibe. Fans love it, players love it, commentators love it. You only need 10k on a Thursday night and the place has a buzz, nevermind 18k on a Sunday. It's not about results because the Tigers seem to struggle at their home grounds lately, it's what the place means to the fans. The game last night was everyone's favourite. We had a good win against a Sydney rival, souths, at bankwest a little while ago and it was nothing like the Leichhardt experience. The club has to make a change. The thing that gets me is that our two stadiums are such massive positives and we inexplicably choose not to play at those grounds. Ask the fans what they want, ask the coaches what they want, ask the players what they want, ask the wider rugby league community what they want and yet...

Hope you are ok and listen to the people providing you support at all times. As far as what you post on here it is fine to disagree with other peoples opinions because we all have different ideas about what is right for our club we all support.
We are all supporters of our club and always will be and that is probably the only thing we have in common

One thing i will say about my trip to Leichhardt on Thursday night is coming from western sydney it was the best trip i have ever had. No traffic lights from the start of the M4 until Wattle St. Goodbye Parramatta Rd!!!!

No need to apologise on here. Many different opinions on here about this topic. We are at opposite polls on this one issue, that makes life interesting. Chin up, this forum is like a family. We occasionally have strong arguments about a subject but in the end we are all passionate Wests Tigers supporters and come together here to support the team.

I agree 100% but it’s not financially viable. That sort of ends the argument unfortunately.

I think the club is wise enough to maintain some link to the traditional grounds otherwise it further confuses our identity in a competitive Sydney market.
If it was just about playing out of modern day stadiums, all the Sydney clubs would be fighting for the right to play at the three bigger stadiums, but they are not they are very much trying to protect their link to their territory even with the limitations that suburban grounds offer.
Not sure there is any evidence to support that Sydney clubs are any more successful because they play out of one home ground, and we have proven that you can win the competition by playing out of two suburban grounds as your home base if you are good enough, and so have StGeorge. It seems success is linked to a great roster and a good coach and if you don't have those you have got no chance no matter where you play.

@Tiger_Steve Yeah, agree. Until a few things change, namely Wests Campbelltown re-affiliate and a leagues club can get up and running near Leichhardt, and both grounds get a permanent big screen (they cost the club approx. 25K to hire for a game) its not sustainable to play all our games at some combination of LO and CSS. Fingers crossed the next few years see a few of those changes occur so come the end of our current contract with ANZ/Bankwest (not exactly sure when that is...), we may be in a better financial position and increase our commitment to the suburban grounds, where I think most fans would like to see us play.

Finally, it is not Parra's stadium, it was not built for Parra!

When it comes to Rugby League it is ..

Oh and you’d better pm every league and radio commentator in the land and ask them why they all call it “Parra Stadium “

Never once heard it called Parramatta Eels Stadium, it was always planned to be a multi tenant stadium. That is why the government was seeking a content guarantee from the NRL!

I said Parramatta Stadium...
Not Parramatta eels Stadium!
...nice try !

So what, it is a Government owned stadium in Parramatta. It was not built just to host Parramatta games.

One of the benefits of being a marginal electorate. Built a stadium under the fake premise it was multi purpose/multi tenant. At the end of the day it is an Eels Wanderers vanity project brought to you by an incompetent government that cannot future plan for the city or deliver any infrstructure that benefits the wider community while being delivered within budget

I don't think any government has been able to deliver infrastructure within budget. Gladys is doing a good job pumping all that stamp duty from the property boom into metro, light rail and roads. Long overdue.

Don't forget, we also received some funding from the government for Concord COE.

Maybe it is up to the club to make it financially viable, add some corporate boxes - put ends on the main stand like they have at Brookvale. Farry O' Barrel needs to organise a good Leichhardt result with his buddies - he wasn't appointed to sit on his fat arse and smile away on the dias like he did at LO on Thursday night. Time to pay your way Barry. You have a lot of ground to make up for already, just trying to catch to Marina.

That's the clincher for me. Wests tigers playing NRL out of Bankwest is miles better than wests magpies out of campbo. And if wests tigers die then so does the balmain link to top grade footy.
