How is one ground going to make us a top team.

Plenty of other teams with one ground are hopeless including the filthy EELS.

The eels are in 6th pushing for a top 4, they will play finals again, we may or may not make the 8, the eels have played many finals series since we last played

But won less comps than us in the last 30 years

More wooden spoons tho....

@Geo we’ll catch up if we don’t turn the ship around by aiming up against a weak side this weekend... that’s what it all comes down to, they’re in a similar boat to us really (Dogs and Eels) yet it seems we’ve been content to usually sit between both as they alternate playing finals multiple times more than us lately, I honestly dunno what the ground will fix !

Thought I would share these for all the people who prefer ANZ.

@innsaneink Good atmosphere with 9 to 15 k not! but no Parra leagues anywhere to be seen that is all that matters ! 😂

Same crap with a roof

Look at the size of the concourse area above the lower bowl, even for sold out events that area will be empty and look terrible!

To me it will be a proper rectangular ground with A1 facilities, it’s a stone’s throw from the Concord COE, and we’ll positioned relative to Balmain & traditional West’s heartland as well as accessible to the greater west by public transport
Who cares if it’s 3/4 empty, I don’t think that’s a reason not to play there
Homebush is the way forward for mine but I get it’s an emotional issue

Yeah, it's not bad when there's 20k there in its current state, that could only improve with the re-figuration. Good location.

I still remember watching a game on TV with a crowd of 6k and how loud they sounded. It was Cowboys at Leichhardt in 2013 I think in rain that was borderline torrential. The crowd was ridiculous. Nofo scored a try to win the game with 2 minutes to go and the place erupted. I just can't imagine Bankwest or ANZ providing the same atmosphere.

Maybe if thise same fans turned up to the other grounds we'd have the same atmosphere... But we're spoiled for choice and go where suits us

I was there, was a gr8 game but as you said there was sub 10k there. We lost a lot of money that night.

G'day @cochise: I mentioned some time ago that if Wests Tigers had been approached in the planning stage of Bank West, with the idea of the ground being a joint development between Parra and Us, I feel that would have definitely worked.
Wests Tigers would have been able to put their ideas forward along with Parra, with the understanding it was a 'joint' development.
As far as I am aware We took no part in the planning, it was built next door to Parra Leagues obviously in Parra territory, why wouldn't it be thought of as Parra's home ground?

G'day @Telltails: re your " not sure there is any evidence to support that Sydney clubs are any more successful because they play out of one home ground" Wests Magpies had an enviable record playing out of their 1 home ground in Lidcombe Oval :v: :relaxed:

I never mentioned anything about Bankwest?

G'day @cochise: Firstly, I hope everything is ok with you health-wise now ie I hope I didn't bring you undone when I mentioned the improper use of the Holy Names of Jesus and God, but you did sound very upset.
2nd where did the artist impressions of ANZ come from as they are Very impressive due particularly to the roof, providing it can be opened and closed fully :relaxed:

They'd be dry at ANZ though
I agree though with all posters that a crowd adds to the atmosphere. I do think that the point of the ANZ rejig is to bring the crowd in closer which will help, plus I'd be amazed if they didn't close off sections to keep the fans compressed which again will add to the atmosphere
Until it's rebuilt I guess we don't know for sure
Assuming they get it right, which hopefully they do for $800m+, I reckon it will be the one ground home base for us that we can build a tradition around and gives us an advantage come finals time

Nice looking crap!

New shape, easy to get to and I would imagine good facilities.

Lots of car parking and public transportation.

Leichhardt oval = none of the above.

Bankwest = nice looking and good facilities. Hard to get to.

Campbelltown stadium = public transport to the stadium, car parking, leagues club next door.

No brainer really.
