Home Semi-Final

SFS is our biggest and best home ground. And the SFS is the best ground in Sydney by a mile - with 30,000 in there it rocks.
I don't really care where we play though - a top 4 finish would be awesome.

The Roosters have more much more than 2 000 fans, I was at the SFS last year when it was pretty much 50/50 in a crowd of 18 000.
Going back to 2005, the Cowboys don't bring a crowd to Sydney that's why we put 50+ on them in the first semi, from there on the League completely stuffed it up, 43 000 at the SFS against St George/Illawarra compared to less than half that the day after for Cowboys V Parramatta,.
The League refused to change venues in a huge slap in the face to League fans et al, how good would it have been to have 85 000 at ANZ that night against the Chokers and they still would have gotten their 20 000 for Cowboys V Parra in a more intimate setting, it's now history but the Cowboys did a 40 point turn around against us in front of a big crowd compared to the shellacking they got from us in front of a mediocre audience.
Atmosphere and results versus the lure of the almighty $$$$, a massive decision.

Campbelltown has plenty of atmosphere when the Wests Tigers give them something to cheer about. The roosters game was a snore-fest.

Cambo Stadiums atmosphere in 2005 was as good as any other suburban ground I have attended.

If we get a home semi, we MUST play it at Leichhardt or C'Town. Id much prefer it at Leichhardt because we have a better winning percentage there. Teams that make the finals do not get any of the gate takinga. It all goes to the NRL. There is no financial benefit in it for the Tigers so i think thay MUST play it at one of the smaller grounds, fill it up with 80% tigers supporters and drown the other team out in the crowd. if we play it at the SFS it would be FAR froma home semi. I see the SFS and ANZ as mutual grounds. no home ground advantage at all.

So 20,000 tigers fans miss out because there is no standing room on a grass hill… you gotta love tradition. I and my family are Tigers supporters and want the right to see them in there first semi in 5 yrs sorry mate SFS thanks!!!

IF…if we did get a top 4 spot and play it at LO or CSG....I think it would go some way to boosting our member base.

6500 have first crack....if youre not a member and miss tix, well in my case i think I'd make sure i joined up the following year

why? SFS is one of our home grounds right? It has the best facilites right? so why play at a ground with less capacity and facilities? Do you really think decisions like that would encourage people to join as members? not exactly smart PR.

An yes before you ask, I am a member with LO being the highlight of my seasons footy and one of my fav footy grounds ever.

I feel we get the best advantage playing at one of our true homes….which is what top 4 is all about.
Its not about getting the most fans, making the most money, making people comfy....
Home ground advantage is what its about and the SFS is NOT our home.
We merely play there often, for $$$$
Semi finals is about **winning**, nothing else

I like the SFS as a quality venue, yet love Leichardt for atmosphere. And although it would be tough to miss out on tickets, I find it hard to argue with the above…

If we play against South Sydney week 1 of the finals then supporters could miss out on tickets even if it is played at the SFS. We could probably get around 50,000 for a game like that. Maybe they would move a game like that to ANZ Stadium.

Take it to Leichhardt. Saturday Night, 15k Tiger Fans, 5k other peanuts to put sh** on, BBQ Sausage on a Roll which never run out and the Beer in Cans…

It makes sence!!!

that is exactly how i think it should be.
it is all part of what makes it special for players and fans.

If we get a home semi this year it should be at the Leumeah Rectangle.

Hi everyone

I believe it will be at the SFS because it would be too hard for the joint venture to choose between Leichhardt and Campbelltown.

Just imagine this forum if one or the other was chosen…...
