@galahs said:When Benny turned up to Campbelltown to gather signatures of support for the Balmain Leagues Club, you start to realise how he is using our football team.
People's opinion who do not live in the Rozelle area should be given very little weight.
benny is using peoples passion for the Wests Tigers to make himself rich.

Your Hypocrisy is of the highest Order!!
For months we have listen to your every whinge and whine about how the Balmain Leagues Clubs finacial situation
is dragging down the Wests Tigers. And almost single handedly responsible for the death of the Magpies.
Someone does something about it, Acting in what is best for the Balmain Leagues Club... To get it back on track, And you are the first to lay the boot in!!
The Balmain Leagues club (weather you acknowledge it or not) is as important to the Wests Tigers as the Western Suburbs Magpies Football Club!! Perhaps even more so... Given Wests Tigers has survived without your beloved Magpies for 2 years.
Your constant negativity and resentment toward Balmain is getting old pal, Move on....

Completely agree. When the proposition was put forward to the members they had every opportunity to read through the terms of the agreement and ask questions prior to the meeting. This, for any believers of the Herald piece on Saturday, actually means that the sale complies to the Registered Clubs Act, and just shows that these people didn't care about it until they think somebody may profit from it. The inclusion of the Leagues Club in the development doesn't prevent it from being a commercial project, and in my personal opinion, if Mr Elias is willing to put up the money and the risk associated with it, then he deserves to get the return.

I feel the same Yoss & Benji, with the way this paper has continually portrayed a one sided view of this development. If this article was correct & I highly have my doubts to its accurateness, the amounts banded about that Elias is alleged to earn, would they be any higher than what is the normal returns for these types of developments? I would hazard a guess & say not.

@OneEyedMagpie said:They refer to Benny Elias as "the former club great" in the article.
Does this mean he is no longer considered a great of the club?
And what is his involvement with Tony Sage in Perth? I would have thought he would be concentrating his energies on helping the Wests Tigers?
@smeghead said:So by the Herald article posted today the residents action group who had the original misleading article published by their lap dog want a meeting and this is supported in the same paper by those folk who are against the towers regardless of any circumstance.
In other words there is no real media attention despite their pleas and as such want a public forum which will lure TV cameras and give them a chance for a freely publicised protest rally. Interesting
