How come we can't make it out of our own half?

We don't win the collision.
We then don't find our front or fight to play the ball.
This leads to slow play the balls.

Dummy half service to 1st receiver is 3/4m backwards, instead of the foot or so it should be. Forwards receiving the ball 3/4m behind the advantage line, rather than just on it.

This inability to get our forwards over the advantage line will be helped immediately in some capacity with Api coming, he does it better than most. Watch our forward metres rise by default.

But not winning the collision or showing desperation for a quick ruck will always hold us back.

Watch the Penrith players fight to get up. It's night and day. It also leads to more ruck infringements against the opposition as they resort to holding the ball or crowding to slow it down.

Needs big work.

They can get as fit they like, it’s not going to change their abilities.
Its every year tho

Look back at the past few offseasons when they finished, and how many times it was said and I quote "best off season ever", so and so player in best shape of his career ladidadida

Guarantee gonna be the same said for next year, rinse and repeat the shit

Simple Answer.

Slow Play the balls is killing our momentum.
IMHO, it is more complicated:
- on too many occasions we do not tackle hard and dominate the tackle, we allow easy post tackle meters;
- most of our players are easy to tackle, they nearly walk to the tackle
- we rarely offload the ball
- we don't have enough support players
- our kick chase is often lacking speed
- discipline, even when we make a good meters, we give the opposition an easy way back by stupid penalties
- we don't respect the ball, and make stupid passes, even in our own half
- Richards was the authority on the art of kicking, we rarely seen the kick restarts or bombs kicked that way by the WT

Our forward pack is not competitive we all know that but I'm tired of acceptance of mediocrity. Always we hear things like kicking game shit but trying hard or discipline costs tries but no matter next week he'll learn or no kick chase but will improve .And when our forwards (except Joe) do few hit ups for few meters oh well let's do better
Mediocre is not good enough .Run hard ,Tackle Hard Kick chase
Get repeat sets or go play elsewhere or cup

Our kick return metres are the lowest in the nrl. Was the same last year.

Has been for a million years....
Kick chase has always been terrible as well....

You'll notice, Most teams we play start their sets on or around the 30m mark - Ours always inside the 10...
Even from the kick offs.

We just lose the ground game - It's stemming from the Forwards and the OB's....
If I had to make it use word - I'd use "LAZY"

It is because we play dumb football.

I watched the game live yesterday at Commbank and a simple task such as taking a tap after a penalty kick for touch. We tap with the centre, throw two passes and get smashed 10m back from where we tapped the ball. Good sides tap and run straight ahead or at the very least have a forward steaming onto the tap for the hit up.

We need to learn the basics of the game of count your men in front, draw them and pass to the player beside you and so on. Agree no pace to run away from the opposition also does not help.

I get frustrated that we do not coach a team in the basic fundamentals of the game. Feed a scrum in 30 seconds and we could not do that, having said that many sides have failed this year for the same without penalty.

Learning to kick to space / corners and pin the side down fighting to get out of their 20m zone would be a start but we run sideways one out and get dominated in tackles.

The flegg side know how to play to this and that is the only hope we have in the future as it is not hard to shut down a predictable attack and lazy defence allows points in.

Kelma needs to go back to reggies as he offers nothing for our future and if we get beaten by 40 by giving a young player a go then so be it. Garner and Matamua in the second row
Give Tumeth and James below a run as they are having a dig in KOE cup.

a few reasons we never go anywhere.
1. Our forwards get monstered and never make any metres
2. Laurie is tiny and gets swamped
3. We rarely get a quick okay the ball.
4. Ken gets up from heaps of tackles gingerly before playing the ball
5. Our forwards take an age to get back on side
6. We regular try and move the ball when we are on the back foot
7. Because our whole play out of our half is one out hit ups
8. Our forwards all look wasted after the first few hit ups .. out of condition maybe .. ??
9. None of our forwards show any fight or mongrel in wanting to make meters after first contact

re 9 - Joffa and Pole are having digs the rest just don't cut it atm.

Great points. Our team cannot do things which are taught in junior football. No wonder we are so bad.

Because we can't get thru and find knees and elbows
This^^^^^

Find them and you find the quick play the balls and/or six agains, plus penalties and even sin bins on the back of a few of them.

Tamou is generally our quickest play the ball and that is a sad indictment of WT overall forwards performance.

What a joke that was, fancy a first grade NRL side not knowing/told who is going to pack into scrums and in what order.

Secondly, whoever was closest needed to get in there when it is our feed and called by the referee. Regardless of who it was that was closest, assuming a half that showed no urgency, in the end that player is most to blame. Pre-teen juniors do better than that.

It was the perfect example of the lack of professionalism at the club,as i have always believed if the top of the club (admin/board) are useless it will reflect in the onfield performances.

Because besides Joe, our forward pack is a bunch of lazy shits who would prefer the backs take the hard hit ups.

Especially that lazy turd Musgrove. Bet he’d run hard if the opposing teams forward pack had women in it.

Soft pack, slow backs.
penrith got out of their half with speed.
Thought Naden was finally going to provide some pace in the backs well until stupidity got the better of him.

Anyone that can let me know when he returns from suspension?

Yeah I noticed this...very eveident we had very little to no post contact metres when we hit the line, panthers pigs went thru us like a bad prawn omelette
I saw Ken on one run basically stop at the defence and brace for impact.
We ask defences no questions, its easy for them, we have minimal runners, we are one out most the tiem, we cannot wrestle, we cant get thru lines, we cant go around because we have no speed and we cant go over because the lazy bludgers wont chase kicks
Mate u nailed it , they lack in all them areas and we are mighty weak in defence
