How confident are you we can beat the Dragons?

Just like the Bennet coached Broncos of 2005, the Bennett coached Illawarra Dragons are full of old men, if we can avoid being penalised early in the game our youth will prevail, I would love nothing more than beating this mob of pretenders, I had to laugh last week when our home crowd doubled theirs, they live in the past, we live for now!.

The Tigers have lifted to another level. We need to go higher again to beat the Dragons. We need our forwards to have another massive game. This is going to be a close one. Heart says Tigers, head says we are in with a shot.

I didn't get to see the win over the Raiders, but from all reports we started at 150% like we did against the Rorters. I wonder if this was Tim Sheens getting us prepared for how we need to play to beat the Dragons??? I think if we hit the ground running we might be able to get a couple of quick tries and the Dragons might start to panic like they did in the finals last year. Hopefully we can blow them off the park early and hold on for another trip to the Grand Final.

mate if you want to watch the raiders game its on http://www.nrl.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

My confidence will grow as the week goes on and game day nears, it usually does.

This time last week I gave us no chance against the raiders, by thurs was very very confident we'd win, fri was almost gonna put some hard earned on them.

Im confident already at this stage of the week about the saints, we seem to be building, the confidence is high, the injury situation good, the long week will do us wonders, were palying in Sydney, the pictures in the sheds in canberra with Heighno Robbie & Ryan going off tell me all I need to know, its very 05 all over again, theyre having fun.

we need to play with the same defence we had against parra early in
the season fast moving and very hard hitting., anderson described it as us stranglin every gasp of air outta them.

I am never confident of a win until the siren goes. Whenever I have been. the boys have usually lost it, so I prefer to stay in a state of anxiousness till the 79th minute and more than 6 in front!

The pressure is on the Dragqueens no doubt they are EXPECTED to win the crown this year.We on the other hand have succeded expectations and have had a tough few weeks building up confidence and hardness if we are on our game and the forwards lay a foundation I think we will win this one .All year I have been saying the Dragons are definatly beatable.

As long as we make our tackles, keep our mistakes to a minimum and pressure soward all night we'll be in with a very good chance

Very confident, we have a good roll happening, are definitely placed as underdogs (especially by ch9 who want dragons to win), and nearly all our players and especially benji and farah are in form. Our Forwards have to be unbelievable as in; more galloways busting the line!!! I think lui is going to be targeted again so that needs to have a counter plan. But overall i know we can win this and im sure the boys know they can. Its also pleasing to know we have the chance to stop the dragons going in to the gf for a second year as minors lol

im confident we can beat them, i dont think it will be the same dragons as last year though. we have to dig deep and earn it!

i think we can.. as i predicted a few weeks ago tigers v titans grand final im feeling it!!

I posted this in another thread, but I have my doubts.

Major difference from last time we played the dragons that I think everyone is forgetting is this man.

Now didnt he coach Broncos in 05?

Whilst this is true the current dragons squad is imo better than that broncos side and the dragons side of 05.

In the end it will make our victory all the greater, but until then i'll be 😛ray:

As we know the Dragons will try to strangle us.

So in a way we have to beat them at their own game, that is minimise the errors and penalties.

Once we do that, we nullify their attack and penalty shots at goal through field position.

From there our attack can take care of itself.

My heart says yes, head says unlike but still possible.

It's anxious Monday today. I'm hopeful. A few things are in our favour, we've had too tough games back to back, we have 8 days between games, our injury situation has improved, the spirit is there.
Dragons will not be easy, simply because they have been hard to score against. if we can find a way through…

We have nothing to lose… they do... the pressure is 100% on the dragqueens...
They will be labelled chokers if they don't win the comp, they've been the most consistent team of the year...
Our year is already a success & the boys can just go out there & play... which makes us very dangerous & always a chance...

I was more confident about the canberra game… but we can beat them.

Same, my confidence wavers - but if we pleay as well as we have the past 2 weeks then we will be a huge challenge for the dragons.

who's he ??

I'm not 100% confident we will come away with a win, but to be honest I never am.

The dragons have been ultra consistent all year in defence and their game plan in attack is to basically suffocate the opposition out of the contest and then run away with the game towards the end.

I do however think we have the "unpredictable" attacking style that will worry them.
I think we need to hit the lead early and stay there, much the same as we did with canberra.
Also like canberra we need to put plenty of pressure on their halves in soward and hornby.
On the 4th or 5th when kicking soward stands well behind the play the ball so that he has no pressure on him at all. we put pressure on him and it will stunt their attack, the only problem with this is, rush up on him and he is quick enough and smart enough to see it coming and step the defence and take off down field.

There have been worrying signs in our defence over the last couple of weeks, something we also need to sort out for this week.

We need Marshall to continue his good form, Farah needs to also step up (A few errors have started creeping into his game since the Titans game) and Lui needs to take charge like he did against the Roosters. A 3 prong attack will really worry their defence.

The last time we played them we had ayshford and Marshall in the halves so our attack although dangerous began to become predictable and they eventually ran away with it in the end.

It'll be a great game and we are in with a chance.
