I'd say Tim would not be happy about the Tigers current situation.
In regards to Tim, I think his downfall at the Tigers was that he lost control of the team. A coach is paid to get results and when he doesn't he pays the price.
If you look at the really GREAT COACH's…Alex Ferguson, Wayne Bennett....they never allowed a player to disrupt the team moving forward...ie David Beckham, Wally Lewis...these players were like mini GODS but when it became clear that they did not fit the team or the club anymore those coach's had no problems moving those players on. IMO Tim Sheens did not address that enough at the Tigers and it cost him his job.
The Tigers have the same issues. When some players command more authority than the coach, its only a matter of time that things start to fall to pieces and that is where we are now. Yes we have injuries, but so do many sides and they pull together and pull through. Some of our most senior players are letting the side down big time IMO and they need to start earning their salaries.
As coach, Mick Potter has a big job to do and that is get the team winning. If 2013 is going to be a rebuilding year where results are not the most important thing then he has to start looking at every player and decide if they are the future of Wests Tigers. No positions should be safe at the WT. It should be based on form alone and if that means that some players are moved on at the end of the year or some players spend time in NSW cup then so be it.
This year will show what Mick Potter has as a coach and how he rebuilds the Tigers for the next generation coming through.
Rather than being disappointed by results, I actually see this as a very exciting time if the rebuild is done properly.
