How long before you get notified of a speeding fine/any other fine in NSW?

From what I have been told all states apart from WA keep track of offences in other states. I was told this by WA roads officer when I took the rap for a fine occurred there for a mate of mine who was driving a car I hired over there. He was scared he would lose his NSW license, so I took the rap. I thought I could get out of the fine by appealing that I had gone 47 years without an infringement. I was told that they had no provision to let people get off paying fines, but unlike other states arrangements, no points would be shown on my NSW licence.

Copped a speeding fine over there in 2021, and no effect on my NSW licence points.

Confirmed with my mate last night (highway Patrol),

Fine can be expected in the Mail in ~2 weeks and Service NSW App in a few short days.

Got booked last week driving on Tuncurry beach with my new truck with no permit (Cant buy online) last Tuesday and the fine is in the NSW App already.

it was a fixed red light camera, my fault I had a big truck in front and behind me and it was dark I didn't think I could break in time when lightning amber due to lights of truck behind me. After reviewing the photo I would have been able to hence I didn't appeal the fine. 0.4 of a second I almost made it...
cheaper fine to go 20km over the limit its $270 odd vs red light $500
did you notice the flash from the camera?

I got done in a school zone, first day back after school holiday, pupil free day.... At 8.52am....49 in a 40 zone... Appealed it.. No joy
Sorry mate, not saying it’s right but no leniency is ever shown on school zone offences. Cautions are given where there’s a 10 year clear driving record and the offence is relatively minor but if the offence is considered serious then it stands.

I would have thought pupil free days would have been not considered school zones?

Nah, its only for state announced holidays / holiday period. Pupil free days are a bit sporadic and gets messy when you have a primary near a high school and only the Juniors get the free day (for example).

No sympathy for people that speed and get done in school zones. The amount of morons that will tailgate you when doing 40 through one is a real head scratcher. Wish nothing for the worse for them.

No, they gazette them as school days irrespective of whether actual classes are being held. Some parents still send their kids to school on those days as a child-minding exercise so there could be kids hanging around.

Ah OK, hot tip, will ensure that I'm not speeding through them then.

Went past this weird white trailer thing in the evening travelling to the east coast if Tasmania after hiking around Cradle Mountain today.

My young bloke said he saw some kind of flash, so I asked about it when I reached our B&B farm stay, and they said it was almost certainly one of the newer mobile speed cameras. Apparently they tow them, drop them off on the side of the road and leave them for varying periods.

Expecting an email from the rental car mob soon, with an administration fee from them to boot.

Mine just rocked up in the Service NSW app after 12 days, no letter yet. Interestingly even though the fine is in the app, my demerits in the app haven't changed? Did I escape demerits or are these recorded separately?

I've been done several times before, just didn't have the app installed previously.

Points recorded once you’ve paid the fine.
