HOW LONG BEFORE?

How long will it be before players like teddy , woods and even brooks and moses see the writing on the wall and realize that the club is on a hiding for the next 2-3 years and no one will be bought to help. Our backs look ok put the forwards woll get pumped most weeks.
The club send me a email after i wrote them, they advised that any player wanting to leave would be let go.
So to put the clubs woes in context, we will sign no one for 2-3 years by that time all the good juniors will be off contract then and will want huge overs to stay or they will leave, and we will be in the same place just 3 years down the track and maybe on our 3 wooden spoon, well done who ever is running this mad house.

Fans whinge about the negative press that this club attracts and then post shit like this?

No wonder we're a target for the likes of the Telegaffe…

what shit have i posted, its all be said on the tigers web site , and i think it is what will happen due to the shit the officals have got us into too.Its people like u that post post shit when other people just want to have there say.

Exactly so CB.
What I find interesting in the midst of all the doom and gloom about our finances and roster, the usual media hyaenas are not howling. Where are they and why? Maybe something is going right for a change.

bp you quoted the following :The club send me a email after i wrote them, they advised that any player wanting to leave would be let go.
So obviously if they feel they will be on a hiding they will be seeking for a release , people need to give JT time to implement his ideas , just be patient bp and hang in there mate . I feel good times are ahead just might take a bit longer than we anticipated.

if any one knows how to get a email on this forum i will share it with every one. and it says if any one wants to leave we can not stop them.or if some one gives me a e-mail i will forward it.

There's really no point panicking like this nothing we say or do can or will change any of the decisions the club will make or has made. Just sit back relax and wait and see what happens next season.

If its no so great then we can all panick then

Its simple really, the club is investing in youth and its own to get its finances right, balance its books and ready for an attack on the comp in the next 2-3yrs.

The question is what more is Blair going to offer that a young up and comer won't? They have made a value judgement and have made a decision that they would rather give someone a chance at say $100-200k against having to fork out $550k per year for Blair.

Buying players on big money has rarely worked for us. Lote, Blair etc. Our strategic advantage over the comp is a once in a life-time crop of juniors. Lets give them the experience and opportunities and then work out where the gaps are and recruit.

I wold even let Farah go if it meant we could keep all the juniors together for a fair dinkum tilt at the comp in 2016-2017\. Nothing worse than watching your team finish 9th year-in year-out.

We are currently paying for past sins in administration and until we get this right we will never develop a culture that will retain our talented juniors and attract players to our club. Whoever reckons this current crop of juniors hasn't got talent, doesn't know footy. If we get a decent run with injuries we could challenege for top 4 next year.

Bravo LC , at least some people on this forum are trying to look on the bright side.

Give the new Coach and club a chance. At least the young players will get the chance now, and I'm sure they will be very happy with a club that gives them the opportunity to play in an NRL side. :sign:

ok ill be nancy we are loosing to many players. people leaving are the ones we should be keeping .if you was running a company we you let your good works go and keep the ordinary ones you would go out backwards. and if we are any where near the cap now give the franchise to another new club because we don't deserve the franchise

If you are going to use "a company" analogy then take it further. My years of experience with companies in industry tell me that good workers leave if it is a "bad" environment. The poor workers stay because they know no-one will take them anyway.

My point is that our "workplace" over the last few years has been far from ideal. Now I can't read minds but I think that JT and all the staff changes he has made is intended to make this a much better workplace.

If he succeeds then players will want to stay and others may wish to come here.

Moss is doing his job in getting our salary cap in order.

That's also part of JT's plan for assembling a stronger squad. Again, I am guessing, but maybe JT has looked at our lower grades and has seen a fair bit of talent. Untried talent, but talent none the less. Talent that may not win a premiership next year but by the same token won't win the spoon either.

The only issue is this I guess CQ

If we have 2 more bottom 4 performances in 2015 and 2016

Will the board show patience ??
Will the fans show patience ??
Will the current players show patience ??

What will it do to the new players if they have 5 back to back shocking seasons ??

I think what you are saying is totally correct and is one of the best summaries over the last 72 hours I've read

But it is a massive risk and could drive the better players off When we go on this "buying spree " we will be upgrading /resigning a lot of our big names contracts

When they see all this money available they are going to want their share for putting up with the bad times

We could quite easily end up in a far worse situation in 2017

Could on you Cq and Tigeress - thank you for your positivity.

Far too much wrist slashing going on in this Forum.

We wanted a new coach, a football manager and a new board - we got it.

Now people are disputing any decisions they make. We haven't even kicked off yet.

You wanted them, now let them get on with the job they were hired to do.

Oh! and by the way - Lawrence is not a back rower - Taupau is; with a weight loss program and a little speed work. Better than SBW. We have the best juniors in the comp and they want to be there. They come from the Wests Tigers stock and you can't buy that spirit or commitment. Go You Mighty Tigers!!!!!

Happy, everyone on here and now Taylor are placing an awful lot of faith in ALL our juniors turning out to be superstars.

Other important people agree, hence the big upgrades that are causing salary cap headaches.

My fear is that all or most of them don't reach those lofty expectations.

Tedesco has the ability but is injury prone. If he loses his speed because of injury he will be nothing special.

Brooks has not shown a consistent quality halfback game yet. It is well known that Potter was bringing him along slowly with Anasta beside him. He concentrated mainly on one side of the ruck.

Curtis Sironen is big enough but I can't recall any one game where he was a standout forward.

The same can be said of Simona and Nofaloma. They have scored some great tries but don't get any MOM performances.

Moses has shown glimpses of brilliance.

My point is with all these guys we are putting a LOT of our faith and salary cap into them but we have our fingers crossed doing it.

Every one of those guys put in a team of solid experienced first graders with some top liners will turn out to be great players. But all of them in the one team together with skinny talent around them?

I'm just not sure. I am hoping like hell though.

CQ,I agree with your post about putting to much faith in the younger brigade of players,as good as some seem to be they lack the NRL experience needed to play solid consistent 80 minute pressure football…I said earlier that we need a couple of well experienced NRL players to play alongside of them, players that have that grunt to keep going all game...Potter wasn't silly playing Anasta next to Brooks,he knew what the kid needed to show what he has to offer, this will happen in good time..I will say if Rowdy plays in the centres and comes back better than last year he would be perfect for the younger ones in the backline, however he MUST improve on his performances 100 percent or reconsider his options....
Let's keep our positive thoughts going and see how things eventuate in 2015.....

What else can we do?

Until the club starts to get its off field structures right we will pay overs to attract any established talent.

Get 100 games into these young blokes asap and then reassess where we are at and what we need. We will struggle if we get too many injuries but I think we will be competitive if we get an even run.

Can't wait to see a backline that includes a fit Tedesco, Nofo, Simona, Brooks and Moses. The last time we had a decent run with injuries we won the comp with a bunch of young blokes that ran the competition ragged.

I don't see any of the top teams getting any better with the exception of Penrith and the Dogs.
