The best thing you can do is to follow another sport… plenty of options available. For me, I choose to start following the NFL (not everyone’s cup of tea)... I loosely followed it from 2012-2014, and then started really getting it in 2015\. Now I absolutely love it. I still follow league, but not as closely as once upon a time.

It's a bit sooky though, childlike even. Better off starting a fight and start swinging with half a dozen players at least really going at it and being sent off first. We lack the personnel though. None of our players have the cajones. Robbie maybe. He'd be the closest. I don't know if the team would follow him his lead now in doing that, where once upon a time they definitely would have.

Idk what’s worse, the bad officiating or the constant whining about it. If anything ever turns me away from the game, it will be the whinging.

Seriously though…...we all get emotional when we feel ripped off. But is the game rigged?? I used to think absolutely not - not a chance. But I now don’t say that with such assurance. Why?
1\. Brisbane’s run of Friday night games over the past few years - surely gives them a 4 to 6 point advantage on the table
2\. Smiths ability to manipulate refs which manifested to refs giving storm majority if 50/50 calls
3\. Subconscious bias towards stronger clubs - this happens with unhealthy regularity
4\. Betting on NRL - betting on sport has historically led to corruption. We are crazy to think our game is immune
5\. Money - it just makes good sense to ensure that a team like Melbourne or Brisbane are playing the money games because their audience is bigger. Much more important than a team like..... I don’t know ..... maybe Canberra?!!
When you think logically about the above points the conclusion I come to is there has to be a level of corruption at some point - do we go as far as calling it ‘rigging’? I don’t know but what I keep seeing over and over again scares me.
And no - I don’t want to follow another sport but I’d like to feel more comfortable about the sport I do follow

So the NRL is rigged for Melbourne, Brisbane, Souths, Manly and Roosters.
Melbourne have had success on the back of have 3 of the best players for the passed decade.
Brisbane haven’t won a premiership since 2006 and have made up the numbers in the finals most times since then.
Manly have been a basket case for almost 10 years.
The Roosters have had up and down success but they stack their roster trying to buy premierships and have got one of late.
Souths were a disaster, had a few good years won a premiership, were rubbish again, have come good again.
If you were the NRL wouldn’t you want the teams you’re rigging it for to win the premiership?
