How's your health?

I recently faced a conundrum concerning running etiquette. I still run 6 days a week and while running I came upon two young ladies running in front of me dressed in two piece running attire. They appeared to be cruising and running within themselves. I hung back about 25 metres to avoid being a perve. I also didn't want to be a dick by overtaking them. I had a sense both could blow me away if I tried to overtake them. The solution of course was to run across four lanes of traffic, dodge the traffic and run on the even grass verge on the other side. The solution was so simple!
You should have been braver than that if you were good enough to catch up to them so be it, nothing wrong with getting an eyeful of some beautiful curves, you never know you may have received a smile as you cruised past, a bonus.

Compared to the big battles a few forumers have fronted my issue is small fish, but Iam after some advice

About six months ago I was playing golf and half through my golf swing I hit the floor like a bag of spuds. As it turned out I ripped my meniscus at the root. I had a MRI and was told it was a grade 4 rip and due to my age 71 outside physo there is not much that can be done. I have been to physio and doing my exercises but six months on Iam still struggling. Iam back playing golf but it’s a real struggle, can’t do my other sport kayaking because I can’t get out of the kayak. My other problems I am starting to pack on the pounds due to lack of exercise

Anyway has anyone got any suggestions, my GP advised against seeing a knee specialist. Anyone recommend a good knee doc around the inner west

In a vicious cycle hey, and the advice sounds a little ageist. I had surgery on a type 3 along with a clean out on my left at 54 and was lucky in that it was scheduled for the last week before the Covid elective shutdown, else I would have had to cope with it for a lot longer too.

Putting up with a bit of bone on bone a little longer until I can get a knee replacement/s at 60yo is one thing, but no way would I want to put up with the additional gut and stomach trauma that the anti-inflammatories caused. I had my last orthopaedic work done by Dr Behdi in Eastwood.

Good luck with yours.

I was looking for the fitness thread for something* I wanted to post...but found this one Id forgotten about, So I thought Id share some news
Cut a long story short im now in remission, specialist informed me last week no more tumours, no more immuno...just more regular checks, CT scans and bloods.
To have your life tipped upside down and all future plans (which many nearing retiring age have lots of) ...to have your plans basically cancelled, then a couple of years later suddenly have options again...well its fantastic, I always said Id beat it, always tried to stay positive... but there was always a nagging tiny thought at the back of my mind being negative

*Anyway, just wondering if anyone has used nasal strips?
I have a deviated septum from a long ago broken nose results in hard to breathe, snoring, blocked one side and now affectiing my ear as well I think.
Ive no idea how they work just looks like a small band aid on the nose which is why im skeptical
Slowly getting some running repairs while I have spare time, got the rotator cuff seen to by a physio, now for the schnoz
Does this mean we can all stop being nice to you? 🤣

Seriously mate, that is great news, really happy for you, your family and friends, hopefully everyone on this forum falls into the friends category. 👍

Can't help you with the rest of that stuff.

Legend mate !!! Truly inspiring stuff.

The more Wests Tigers win - the more we all will be inspired. Inspiring is healthy. The catch is- we gotta rely on a bunch of kids to inspire us. Not our children though. Cause when we were kids they were men. Heroes. Others will see it differently. They will say that perspiration is real. Inspiration is fleeting.

Was told I had non - Hodgkin lemphona nearly, on 2 years ago , doctor says they are dormant at this time , but it’s like carrying a time bomb just waiting for it to go off . So to all on here who have cancer or other deadly illness , all we can do is keep our chins up and hope are doctors have are backs .
Thanks , still dormant at this stage , but I never stop thinking of the day when it is no longer dormant

Do you think maybe you could feel better switching off the TV and contemplating natures beauty - your beauty as nature instead of people wearing make up pretending to be God. You deserve the truth. In the mean time - remember - we all got your back brother. Talk to us. We here for you. You come to the right place. Not by accident. I'd like to think. Rather - design.

I wish I could not think about it , but on the tv there is so many cancer adds . It’s not something I want to do , it just happens
I've been there too... It is difficult to stay positive and not think about it but anything to do with the future always did itfor me... And this place.... Where it's often "there's ways next year" brings it forth
