Humpty on Game Plan

1 member from wests and balmain is enough to show respect to the foundation clubs a 6 man board is enough. With the funding model being changed. Atleast we all agree on the direction that we need 2 head, lets hope our current board and new CEO understand.
The tweets from Mayer and the responses have been taken on board I think, he gets the message from fans I'm not sure if I'm aloud to copy his tweets here so I won't, will be in today's SMH.

Yeah I agree with Ink's take on this **And whilst I've got little time for Humphreys, being an ex Balmain fullback and all …** I gotta say, that final look he gave in tonights interview ... that was haunting ... I actually felt quite sorry for the guy ... at that very moment I kind of identified with the other side, I finally realized that this JV is never going to work. Whole bunch of jokers have tried hard to make it work yet it's hopeless ... two proud, heritage clubs and never the twain shall meet. Let's just bust it up now, end this charade and see where the cards fall.

Gee I wonder where he gets the idea to suggest that fans are at least partially responsible for the division at the club…

I'd have an 8 man board

2 Wests 2 Balmain and 4 independant with the CEO with the casting vote if required

CEO's report to boards, not sit on them. Take the above board composition and a motion to sack the CEO. The vote is split 4 all and the CEO has the casting vote…....

Anyway, I don't think the club needs a completely independent board or even an independent chairman. The board is responsible to shareholders and should make decisions accordingly. Shareholders should have the right to decide what is in the best interests for their equity. If they have 50% equity, then they should have 50% representation on the board.

What we really need is a strong CEO. A CEO with no connections with rugby league. Almost a David Smith-like appointment. We should cast the net overseas. Look for sporting administrators in the US, UK or Europe. Really get someone from left field with fresh eyes.

Humpty was grilled (well slightly sauteed ) by The Game Plan

He wouldn't comment on Benji's benching , but wouldn't support Benji either

Asked about Blair and said both sides weren't happy with him

He was asked about all the infighting at board level and said it had to change ,that we were having monetary issues and wasn't happy the fans seemed to be abandoning the Tigers

Worst for me was he seemed to blame the fans for Balmain v Wests problems and commented " I would of hoped that 2005 would of fixed all of those issues "

**Well Humpty ,if you'd got an independant board that still had a minor imput from Wests and Balmain (2 from each side and 6 members without previous prejudices ) we would be in a far better place Even Blocker said this OMG** :astonished:

This isnt possible unless all commercial parties agree to making a change to the structure/governance of the business… The fact you think its Humpty's fault is comical, considering your background.

The guy is the CEO, not the bloody Chairman!

Geez mate Im no Humpty fan, but imo you seem to have painted him in a poorer light

I dont think he ''didnt support benji" He said something like he added spark or something when he came on - tried his guts out….I was proud of him.

I dont think he said ''it seems the fans are abandoning the tigers"

...and I didnt get the impression he was blaming fans for the balmain wests stuff.....he said everyone comes from somewhere and everyone has a right to be proud of that

-------------------------------------------
...also said he has been thinking of stepping down for some time and didnt wanna be seen as quitting while we are down and out or words to that affect....and he think someone with a ''better skillset'' than himself would be more likely better to do a better job as CEO at WTs

This is closer to the truth. I watched it and he didnt blame the fans.

Yep rewatched it (without the aid of my missus trying to blab on about her day at work at the same time :blah ) and I probably took one or two issues the wrong way Still think the 2005 comment was aimed at the fans though

So he blames the supporters for the bickering, yet himself divides the supporter base after the poor turnout in round 2 against Penrith. Be interesting to see if he does the same again tonight if its a small crowd

If Blocker is genuine about WT moving forward (away from Balmain & Magpies allegiances) then he himself must distinguish between the Tigers (Balmain variety) and Tigers (Wests variety). He does not seperate the two brands/identities. Especially being a high profile media personality on TV and Radio and his PR role in WT.
