Awesome creatures. I once had one swoop down and along our picnic table, without disturbing anything on the table, to grab a sausage out of the sausage sandwich I was holding, taking it to a nearby fence where it gleefully bashed it several times against said fence before devouring it.

Awesome creatures. I once had one swoop down and along our picnic table, without disturbing anything on the table, to grab a sausage out of the sausage sandwich I was holding, taking it to a nearby fence where it gleefully bashed it several times against said fence before devouring it.

Love Kookas. Pretty unfazed with people too. One great thing about the mountains is they are everywhere.

Once when holidaying at Diamond Beach I fed a couple that were warbling outside the unit we were in. They returned about the same time every morning for the entire time we were there and by the last day were almost besties.

Yeah I can't remember the last time I saw a Kookaburra ..used to get a few at the In Laws place ....crows crows and more crows up here as well as the Indian Minor birds

The crows aren't the dumbest animal going around either ....watching them tease the dog in the back yard is hilarious

No its ok I am not talking about the Wests Magpies, I have become quite fond of them over the last 20 years. I am talking about those pesky birds that rain hell down from the sky, well not even all of them, just the one at the end of my street that swoops me and only me. He and I are now in our annual battle for supremacy of my street, I refuse to run from this menace and turn to face him every time, I plan on landing a punch on this fiend mid swoop. The lines have been drawn.

It reminds me of when we played golf at Wagga,a family of Magpies lived in the treeline on the 15th hole,they would swoop you even when you were in the middle of the fairway..
my mate got sick of them attacking his head when he was about to play a shot,he came to the game next week with an ice cream container on his head so the birds didnt hurt his head,gee it looked funny ,him walking up the fairway with an ice cream container on his head...
