I think the issue is Sheens

Spot on Earl, but not 5 hit ups and a kick.
Straighten the attack, draw and pass, extra man plays are all fairly simple .
And have a look at some the other teams crisp passing, ours always seems a bit clunky !
It seems Clunky because Brooks always starts it by standing way too wide from the dummy half and way too flat, he then runs sideways and delivers the ball to the wrong support player , almost always at the worst time and often either throws it at them , or too hard or behind them. In short , diabolical service from “the playmaker “

Excellent observation.

Maybe none of the team have any footy nouse- although why are we the only club that seems to have none "nouse that is"
You show nouse or initiative, you put a target on your back. That’s the way it is in a “mob rule” system of organisational governance. The power comes from each member supporting each other. The appointments of the ochlocracy are not chosen on merit, but something more highly valued within the group, compliance, which gives the gig continuity.
As a team member in such an organisation, you would have no choice, considering what happened to Cavanagh, but to keep your head down, accept your pay packet, and don’t make waves.
I’ve seen a few organisations like this. It’s human nature and it’s harder to have a meritorious system which has a heavy focus on the organisation’s number one goal, it’s true reason for existence.

Agree with this. Additionally we are trying to turn hit up merchants in Klemmer and Utoikamanu into something they are not in ball playing forwards. They don't have the skillset to run to the line and play out the back and we lose their strong carries as they are no longer running straight and hard.

I just posted in another thread about our attack and it's all on the coaches. They are not playing to Brooks and Doueihi's strengths at all.

The way I see it, we have Api controlling the middle on his own. No ball playing lock helping, and no halfback on the ball helping. We are playing Brooks wide expecting his pace will cause trouble on the edge. Problem is, the hooker isn't enough to condense the middle to give Luke space. We need to shift our thinking. Brooks' speed will be more beneficial through the middle. He needs to play close to the ruck unless we somehow unearth a smart lock. This will open up the edge for Doueihi and the fullback.

The idea behind the structure makes no sense. Long ball to the halves with just the hooker controlling the middle = shocking coaching.

If we get rid of Pascoe and Lee will Brooks or Doueihi become average or above average first graders ?
Probably not - but neither of those would still be contracted and would probably have retired by now. We've never looked at other options for Brooks because he had a long term contract so whoever agreed to that in the club shouldn't be there now as well. We don't have a style of play because our "playmaker" can't play make and it's been that way since 2014. We're too frightened of the media saying "oh they lost another player to ????" to bite the bullet for long term success.

Let's take emotion out of this and look at it for what it is.

In 2005, the whole squad was pretty much in the form of their lives. We could do no wrong. In 2011 preliminary final, we threw the game away vs St George when Benji kicked it out on the full in the last 10 minutes. So, 1 Grand Final win and 1 finals appearance.

Here we are in 2023 with Sheens back at the helm and have lost 2 from 2.

We have a forward pack that should be causing problems, but aren't.
Our outside backs are 'ok'.
Our playmakers aren't horrible by any means.

What are they being told to do? What is the strategy?
The Titans and Knights have read us like a book. We could attack a tryline for 20 sets straight and still not score.

I think Sheens's strategies are outdated and we are seeing the implications of this on the field. This is why we never made the finals more when he was coach first time around.
I think the Issue is attitude and has been for some time
Seems coaches haven’t been whispering the right words of encouragement
Madge yelled like Bellamy and that didn’t work either
It’s like some try and rest dial it in then it’s someone else’s turn next week

Honestly I think this is BS. We moved on from Brooks being the best option last year and that was at the latest. The whole season Madge had Brooks playing as a running 6. We've thrown massive support behind Doueihi and basically given him the 6 spot.

The media doesn't even support the Tigers having Brooks. I honestly can't remember the last time a media pundit said Brooks was crucial for our team.

We've been actively trying to recruit Moses and we recruited Hastings prior to that.

We haven't renewed Brooks contract and all I've heard Sheens state is that it's not his fault his contract is too high and they would like to re-sign him at a lower dollar contract.

I responded to the moronic Brooks comments previously in relation to his game on the weekend and this is the same theme. It's a false narrative.

I'd love Brooks to be the only problem at the club or even the biggest problem at the club but I don't think it's true. His contract is a massive turd but if you got rid of him this season it makes absolutely no difference.
