If AD is out

What would happen at fullback? You would assume Mbye shifts back there, and BJ would slot straight back in. Or do you throw in young AJ?

Mbye is the only realistic option...

This is a perfect example of why a player of A.Johnson’s ability is a must signing. Specialist winger but has the pace and smarts to cover at fullback when needed.

I’d luv to put Nofa back there but his defence & ball skills just aren’t good enough for the position

Honestly I think AJ is just more of the same issue - players who aren't good enough and who have never excelled in any particular position. I personally think Johnston is a really ordinary footballer, and if not for being a bit fast, really lacks confidence or power or special ability.

My preference, if we are looking for versatility, is to get some young fellow looking for a go, e.g. this Roosters kid.

Id take my chances with the new kid on the block. Mbyes proven he can't catch which is a crucial skill at fullback. Give the kid a chance, he might be something special like Blore.

no way would we play toung rooster Atsu K at fullback
it would be Mmbye
Talau in centres
wing Jennings or Hoffman or young Atsu K

Why wouldn't you give him a chance? Mbye and Jennings have had all the chances in the world and have proven diddly squat. Does he have to prove himself at wing or centre to earn fullback? He has to debut at some stage.

Ah, misread this at first. The Roosters kid is also called AJ.

Yeah Mbye to fullback is all we’ve got I think. Asu on the wing and Tommy to centre.

I don’t know how this can be any worse than what we have now tbh. AD is a cripple back there so I don’t think we’d be losing anything.

Why not give Nofa a go if Douehi is out. He does have a few defensive issues for sure (and he's not the only one) but he can be plenty dangerous, in broken play especially. We need an X factor if we hope to knock off the Knights at home. Maybe he can provide that.

I'd say Johnson is a specialist winger. And a very good one. He's got pace, which is the one thing our team lacks. I don't see much better on offer apart from Addo-Carr(who would be my preference of course)...

Can't comment on our new recruit because I've never seen him play. Some say he's a centre, some say fullback and others say try him on the wing. Sounds like nobody has a clue.

At this point in time I'd put my money on an established player with proven ability over a kid with potential but no experience.

I think Mbye would be the logical choice, move Talau to the centres and young AJ gets a start on the wing.

The same concentration issues that affect his goalkicking impact his ability to catch a high ball.

Mbye to fullback, not sure about the left combo. I think the young pairing on the left might be an issue but you never know.

Having a goal kicker is a must, bring in a development player if possible.Probably lost 3 games due to this plus the dissapointment on the players faces was palpable.Instead of being 10 up after 2 tries its only 6 and gives the opposing side a leg up.

Has Talau ever played FB. He has all the attributes - tall, good under the high ball, good passing game, reasonable defence. Just thinking outside the square as i don't want Mbye in the team.

Don't be too concerned if AD is out,I'm sure Madge will replace him with someone equally as bad at missing goals . so don't worry. Mbye still there.
