100%... One week after a win there's talk about extending Madge and all the Madge haters are quiet, then after the loss they were waiting for they come out in full force with talk about sacking him.

I would extend him now and give him full licence to remove any and all players who are not performing.No more having players living on their names reputations or past glories.They are the problem not the answer

People need to look at our team stats to rate how Maguire is going. We are in the top four to five teams in most areas other than goal kicking. If Madgeball is what has got us second in scoring tries with with a spine and backline no one rates he must be doing something right.

I honestly wish they would right now, there’s gotta be more to life than following a bunch of perennial losers year after year after year - it does nothing for my mental health.

This year I was very hesitant about becoming a member of the club, as I have been for the past 13 years. But they made what I thought was a couple of good signings so I decided to stay on as a member......but honestly this mob are just awful, nothing seems to change does it ! :angry:

Apparently we have a good coach and a lot of the players are good quality, but this just doesn't convert to wins, we seem to have too many ups and downs, most inconsistent no heart., and no pride it seems- and yes as ardent followers of this club, I believe it can have some effect on our mental health:-1: ( and the coaches too I'm thinking )

I wouldn't be surprised if Madge throws in the towel, most of the time after these losses he looks as if he's be crying, as most of us are almost doing as well......just not good enough.

We couldn't get anyone better Avo on a one year deal. Even though they have served there purpose for 2020, pretty sure he won't sign them again for next year.

We need to get rid of the dead wood, especially the overpaid dopes like Jennings and Mcqueen, Smith, do not put Taylor in these groups but should not be renewed (they will go at the end of the year). Bit harder to get rid of the parasites like Mbye, Reynolds, Chee-Kam etc. because of the contract lengths.

That's 4 definite spots and three more if you could find someone stupid enough to take them.

Have Stefano coming and that leaves three with approx. 800 to spend, (2.4 mill. if you could get rid of the other three) we need to make those signings really count.

It ain't easy with what cap we have - probably will have to give a few of our better players the chop to get better than them.

The cornerstone of long term success lies in the team’s continuity. In fact that could be said for any organisation. Madge is making all the right moves imho. The club cannot be successful if it continues to treat players like it treated Farah. Long term servants at the club need to be sent off with dignity, respect and gratitude in the hope that young players strive to emulate their success. These old players need to be around the club as a reminder. Madge got Blocker to have a word of encouragement with Blore before his debut. This is part of the cultural shift I find very pleasing. Madge has taken on a huge job , having to walk in with his fireman’s hat for a while.

Yes he resigned them, but the crucial point is, the contracts of Reynolds, Mbye and Packer are not his doing, and that is what's stuffing up our roster.

He lost to a warriors team who were relying on other teams discarded players to actually field a team.

Thing about Warriors is I thought they were quite good, but Tigers gave them the opportunity to grow into the match. Not just about goal kicking, because 18 points would have been great, but just that we had them in real real trouble after 20 mins, and we should not have been gassed or complacent because we'd done most of the attacking.

Then Lawton literally strolls over and from then on Warriors are keenly in the contest. We were probably 1 try away from really taking the game from the Warriors, like we have done in matches vs Cowboys, Dogs, Broncos, but instead we lost our composure and that was enough.

The Warriors have a lot of blokes playing for careers, for pride or just for a run and it can make a side like that very dangerous. Everyone saw how close they got to the Roosters last week, despite being a few players better off last week than this week. They had blokes playing for pride and taking the opportunity afforded to them. Low error rates, tactical offloading...very UN-Warriors-like in my opinion.

I can applaud the Warriors for that application, but they will still struggle to win matches in 2020 because ultimately you need talent with your grit. But, from game to game, Warriors will put in a really big-hearted performance and hot/cold teams like Tigers will fall to them. Cronulla are another team like us, just with more talent, but they are borderline losing to some of the worse teams going around and seem to just win enough to keep in the Top 8. But this up/down style of Cronulla will kill them in the finals if they make it, same as it did last year.

Well if the players played with the same enthusiasm as we did the last few weeks we should have won easily, they did'nt.
I heard Madge's press conference prior and he was going on about the NZ and looking forward to having a chat with SBW.
To me that is not focused on what is required for this week with the Tigers.
His selections were questionable, he is persevering with a Captain that is not playing well at centre, Half back on the bench ridiculous.
Twal not fit was he on holidays after the injury, should of been on the bench.
Grant tired and needed a break.
I also don't mind giving players a spray but at half time i would have preferred a game plan instead and a spray later, the players are not respecting the coach and i think he has already lost the dressing room.

He has a year to run. i would rather see how we go when we get rid of some more dead wood this off season.
To also attract good seasoned players that we need for our spine they have to also want to play for the coach, i saw nothing at half time where the players respected what he was saying. We were completing our sets, In front if i was a player i would have thought give us a break we are trying but key players are letting us down.
What's the game plan in the 2nd half coach, when is brooks on??
Walters was doing nothing i would have made changes at half time, that would have sent a message to the team instead of a spray.

Madge was clearly not trying to be complacent, he was giving it to them in the dressing room at half time when we were up! Madge knows what it takes to win a grand final, and I'm sure the players aren't shirking their their job at training - Madge has come out and said on plenty of occasions how good he thinks the team is, or at least should be in terms of results. Last night was a mental collapse of sorts, not the first time, it happens far too often which is the problem.

How does he fix the problem though? It's not feasible to clean out the entire roster. That is not the answer. There are certainly some players earning far more than they deserve, and some who provide nothing more than depth.

I know all the teams do boot camps in the off-season for team building and building resilience but Madge and the staff need to work on something to have the players raring to go each week when they step out on the field. It's impossible to be at your best every week but it's not unreasonable to strive for a level of consistency that rivals the likes of the Roosters, Penrith etc. They can afford to have an off day and account for teams like the Warriors and Titans. We cannot and that somehow, some way has to change.

Anyone who is familiar with the tigers could see what was happening last night. The coaches job is to identify the cause and fix them. I think screaming and chair kicking can be crossed off the list of techniques to manage it.
