If Taylor goes what then!

You might be right and I might be being a bit harsh but it just seems to me he can turn it up when he wants to for Origin, the warriors game etc.

Farah refuses to leave the field on request apparently.

This is the only thing that concerns me however I wonder if it is true. If it is I would play him in reggies the next week.

Who cares if it's true, as long as it sounds good for someone's argument :rant

The Taylor thing and the Farah thing is very much like labor/liberal or holden/ford, there are people in both camps who would not swap sides no matter what happened. As I have said a million times,we just can not keep flicking coaches every time we have a bad season and we have to get behind our coaches and let them see out their contract and than make a call, but I also respect other people who have a totally different view…that is what a forum is all about

So we accept mediocrity from our coach but not the players? What a double standard and message to send not only to the players but the sponsors and supporters of the Club. We've seen the Taylor supporters attempt to spin we were a point of 11th! 11th is no more acceptable than 15th but saving the coach is more important than results.

Yet there are people who put it all on the coach and let the players off the hook. It goes both ways. This is the 2nd coach this playing group has failed under yet they are absolved of any blame.

Just because the last two coaches that the club signed, were from the bargain basement and were duds, doesn't mean that we should just put up with another two years of the same.
Seems to me that it is the club that is responsible for us having the coach that we have. And while we definetly need some better forwards to replace the ones thatnTaylor has dumped, maybe more responsibility should come back on the performance of the people who hired Taylor in the first place.
Oh that's right….0me was a Shyster, and the others had no idea of the game......
Isn't it amazing how that hasn't turned out great ???

Maybe the reasons for Robbies form are this NT - he was instructed to let the young halves control the game more rather play his natural game. Maybe because he was criticised for trying to overplay his hand too often. Maybe its because he was carrying a shoulder injury and a hand injury for some of those games that he was not at his best. Maybe its because he has to do a lot of the defensive work for the eighty minutes he is on the field to cover for those who cant or dont. Maybe it was because he was told by the coach that he would be playing reggies next year if he stayed at the club. And maybe you are right.

What Ava said wasn't speculation, it was a direct quote. He didn't have to risk putting himself on the wrong side of JT, he could have easily left, but he didn't. If the situation was as bad as you're making out he'd have left. Instead, this so called mass exodus that supposedly would occur has started with a player re-signing. I suppose if a few more re-sign it will be under the assumption he'll soon be gone, not the fact that the players relationship with him might not be as strained as some want to believe.

Look I doubt JT is the most popular coach in the NRL. I expect a lot of the players think he is a muppet based on his game plans this year. In stating all of that being offered a contract at the Wests Tigers is a big deal. We aren't that bad a club like peeps on here want to make out.

We've had a dud year in no small amount due to having a dud coach. We can improve from here and so can JT. If Robbie goes or if JT goes or if they both stay we can have a good season next season and past that point.

If we start winning some games the whole situation will turnaround.

Spot on ST. Putting their egos aside and start working together, for the betterment of the club, would be the smartest thing coach and captain could do.
Here's hoping :sign:

It's funny - all the reports out of the GF luncheon about Farah and Taylor barely acknowledging each other, that Farah doesn't get along with him etc, etc.
I wonder how Farah will go with life after football? There is a fair chance he will have to work for a boss, and bosses tell you what to do - that's how it is. You don't have to like it, but you do have to do it, you have to do it the way you're asked to. You don't have to like the boss, but you do have to listen to him, and most of all respect him…. At all times!!
Who the hell does Robbie think he is... Club legend or not - his moral compass is so off kilter its astounding

Lol Batboy…. Robbie is not only smart, but also a very wealthy man. If he chooses to work at all, he will be the BOSS. Didn't you know.

….....Its pretty simple. He isn't playing to a high level and he is costing a lot of money.

I think that's right and I think there are a couple of elements to that.
One is, he knows he doesn't have to perform to a high standard in club games. He knows he's a WT 'Legend' and he is comfortable here. Just look at the idolatry coming from this forum. Happy hit the nail on the head:

Probably the reason you don't make players life members before they have retired…..

The other is, I think he is no longer particularly interested in competing at club level. He sees himself as an elite player and is now interested in the challenges of rep competition. As a result he is cruising in club games until he has to pull out a blinder e.g. round 24 this year. I think he's capable of an ongoing high level of play, I just don't think he's interested.

Wow - now we have moved on to knowing what he is thinking!!

Yeah…We've got a bunch of mind readers on here. Such a special and rare breed.

Farah is a totally dedicated player …hes not playing to lose ...unlike taylor saying it doesnt matter about the score??? he gives his all and is serious about winning .. helps the young players, doesnt take money to help the club out etc .. anything wrong with that??? ditch this useless coach, keep robbie and get on with game .. if taylor coaches there will be a lot of ex-supporters ...

Ricky Stuart, Brad Arthur and Shane Flanagan all have similar records of less than 50%. Wayne Bennett was 43% at Newcastle. Can't help but think that quality of squad plays a big part….

Magy you must've misunderstood my post^above. I was stating that Robbie is a smart man and that one day might be his own boss, run his own bussiness etc. :supporter:

I think two of our new signings will fit in very well when we punt JT and hire the Walker Brothers as coach. Those two along with the hooker were the Jets three best forwards.

I do like the style of football Ipswich plays. It would be very marketable in the NRL and return us to our traditional way of playing football. I hope it happens.

We already got one, a month ago, the richest sponsorship deal in the clubs history as a matter of fact.
