If we miss the finals, should Tim Sheens walk?

Let him stay. I think he does a pretty good job. The club doesn't get a lot of bad press and we go alright.

His selections at times make me wonder but overall I think he deserves to stay until the end of his contract. We should however be grooming another coach from within to take over.

if we were at the bottom end of the table this season and the past couple then its a different matter.

i thought long ago that a coaching change was good for us then i see the merry go round going on at the bulldogs and think forget it.

even if u get a so called top coach everyone wants who says its going to work out when they come to your club.

It hasnt worked 75 % of the time for us in the past with sheens either.

I cant wait until Sheens and humpty are long gone

u dont know what u have till its gone i dont rate many other coaches ! i think Bennet /bellamy /sheens and couple others are so far ahead of the rest , WOW we have are having problems in a team with 25 egos? who would of guessed . Has any1 who works in a large company noticed the generation of egos there are now imagine managing 25 cashed up egos in a football team ?

If we miss the finals, should Tim Sheens walk???

**DEFINITELY**

Seeing that we are in the 8 with the majority of players back, barring further injuries he should (but wont) walk if we fall outside the 8\. If we can keep our key players on the park over the final rounds, then dropping out of the 8 from here will be unforgivable

hahaha some of you are unbelievable. the media are making us lose games. yeah ok

I think Tim should be fine for this year But if we had another season of missing top 8 his situation would be dire i think Still think we will make the eight this year though

this was suppose to be our yr this yr so there should be no excuses
and injuries shouldn't be an excuse coz they are pretty much back at full strength now with still plenty of time to make something from this yr
so no exuses this yr at all IMO

…why? do u think we will be a top 4 side every year as soon as these 2 guys are gone?

If we don't have any more major issues with injuries in the coming weeks and we don't make the 8, then yes, he should walk. For the most part though, over the years, things have been a little stale. I am really interested to see how this side responds to a different coach.

Probably would have been best to post this AFTER round 26, but I expect one to pop up anyway if we don't make the 8.

If we miss the finals… Then the clean out of perennial under performers and Penalty givers is Justified.

Disagree.

With all the crap we have had heaped on us this year, from a record injury toll, to unnecessary and undue amounts of attention on our contractual issues, or team members personal issues, it seems to me the ONE thing holding the team together is the unerring testicular fortitude that Sheens has.

We have been hammered from varying media sources for a multitude of things not concerning rugby league.

We have been hammered on the park with injures.

We are still in 7th place! We have a great shot at making the finals, and IMHO winning the whole shebang.

the one constant all year, through everything has been Sheens. Never losing his sh… er ... marbles. Never making excuses - REPEATEDLY telling the press that the team cannot make excuses, even when fans are being much more forgiving (myself included)

If we had a coach like Kevin Moore, he'd have necked himself after 8 rounds, and we'd be running 16th.

Sheens is not just sitting on his hands ater having his contract extended for 4 years - you can see the Sheens factor in effect with the team changes - and I for one am both intrigued, and excited about our prospects.

Lose Sheens, and we lose a lot more than what he is given credit for. I don't want to go back to a Terry Lamb era, and if we lost Sheens and picked up a Dingleberry like Stuart, that's where we would head.

CARN TIGERS!!!

CARN SHEENS!!! :sign:

x 2 underdog .. the tigers WILL make the finals and with a gram of luck, with most of the guns fit and healthy, the tigers will be the team that not one of the likely top 4 at this stage would want to play.

Underdog x 3.

I can't stand the fact that Sheens-haters keep referring to our poor semi-final return over his tennure.

The 2006 team was the same as the 2005 side but the injury toll in '06 was horrific and we missed the 8\. Then it was 2 years ('07 & '08) of no-Benji and no other decent half to steer the team around. If you are realistic, we didn't have the cattle in those years as we off-loaded players cause of salary-cap pressures from the '05 & '06 period. It was a rebuilding period and yet during those years we were on or thereabouts for the 8.

2009 we had a team capable of winning the comp that's why we had over 35,000 at that game at the SFS against the Eels cause it was them or us. We lost the spot in the semis and fan favourite TT in one game and Parra got knocked off in the G.F. by the Cheats.

Last year we weren't good enough? Please!

StGeorge/Illawarra got all the luck with the bounce of the ball and penalties. It was them or us again.

Seeing where Wests and Balmain had come from, they were virtually at the bottom of the ladder both literally and economically. Who'd have dreamt that our club, with limited financial resources, would have a team that is realistically capable of honours on a relatively consistent basis.

Still think the ideal situation for us is top 6 I would not want to have to beat Manly,Melbourne or Saints for our 1st week survival Hoping we get sixth and Brisbane get third Then bring it on Broncos

And who's fault is that?

Surely not the coach for signing John Morris and persisting with him for three years despite every man and his dog seeing that is was a failure?

Surely not the coach for trying to turn Marshall into a halfback to cover for his poor recruitment?

Of course, like always, Sheens never cops any of the blame. It's always out of his control. :unamused:
