If you were told definitively…

Unfortunately I can't see any massive improvements in the WTs while HBG are still involved and HBG won't hand over the reins of the club unless the NRL forces them to hand back the licence
So we will still be in this predicament for a long long time

I’ve asked this a few times, maybe someone knows why or why not?

Could we get Cambo Leagues more involved, somehow?

Could this be explored further as an avenue of despair?

Surely, it's a possibility?

It would depend on the money they make, and if it was enough, the supporters could use 'people' power to make them our main owners.

Can’t they fund the club?

Unfortunatly im a Rugby League bigot. I hate everyone else i dont support. Iv got no problem discriminating them. Also unfortunatly i cant change who i support.

Cant force HBG to do anything they own the joint. They either choose to sell it or go bankrupt and lose it. No idea what the N.R.L could do as the licensee. But they wont do anything. Good or bad coverage in the media keeps all other sports codes out of the papers.

I look forward to us guffawing about for another decade only for another board clean out to happen and roadkill toupee savant Dennis Burgess inexplicably finding his way back into a chairmans role in 2035.

I’d walk into HQ and tell them that they’re doing something very wrong - whatever you’re doing, whatever you had planned, don’t do it. Nonetheless I don’t think it would matter what they did.

Do they own it? Did they pay for it?

If there was another entity, that being Macrathur Leagues and they had the ability to run the club in the way it should be run, then there is leverage.

this is something i have pondered for a while (look at my signature) and i really don't know the answer to the question, it's a tough one
Look at ‘doesn’t matter’. They have been in the finals a lot over the past 20 years but no premierships. Last one was in the 80’s when sterlo had hair, look we are probably going ti have to wait that long to. But for me 2005 is one of my happiest years and personally I would exchange that for 50 second places.

Tigers don't make it this year. Certainly don't make next year, so that's 23% of your time frame. 2028 there is 2 more teams to beat to the finals and PNG are going to be on every NRL banner. So unless they are absolutely atrocious my logic puts them in the finals, as they will get an amazing rub of the green that year. So just say there is 7 spots available in 28. that makes it 33%

Our history says there's 0% chance of Benji seeing out his contract and many current players leaving. So there's another rebuild coming before 2030 with a rugby league talent pool so shallow Asu Kepaoa is a 1st grade player. This organisation has shown zero ability to retain talent or have contingencies in place so I see tigers and bears fighting for spoons.

Unless there's some freak alignment that causes Latu and Averillo to smash together and become Voltron in 2029, Any Chance of making the finals is post 2030, with a new coach and new squad. There's 55% of your time frame. That puts the club at 20 odd years out of the finals

I'm not certain, however I'm sure there was also some contractual talk regarding the club license circa 2030. I also acknowledge the pessimism in my post, but the club has filled me the cynicism in its regards. HBG are either a complete circus or they are playing 4d Chess to kill the merger.

I look at it like this going into a new season. Are we any stronger than we have been in previous off seasons? Heading into 27, what is it about our squad that makes us more likely to break the finals drought than any other season since 2011? And as you allude to, the addition of two extra teams is going to make it even harder now. Especially with PNG and how strong they will be. Our only hope may be if the NRL want to make it a top 10.

I want to say no I wouldn't follow them, at least during that time frame. But each year for the past 5 (at least) years I've given us no chance of making the finals before the season has started. Yet I still follow the team throughout the season. So I guess I would.

Even though you give them no chance, you still never know. Look at 05.
