In your heart of hearts can you see Taylor turning it around?

I scratch my head when people think the players singing on songs on Mad Monday is a reflection on the coach and not the players themselves.

As for 2016, why can't we improve? Aren't our young players some of the best young players in the game? It's been forgotten due to the Farah fiasco but we were actually improving towards the end of the yr after the 5 tackle, bomb gameplan was scrapped. So much so there was a thread created saying how we could actually make the 8\. I don't think we can make the 8, but I think it isn't beyond our reach finishing somewhere between 9th and 12th, which would be an improvement.

As a WT supporter we always expect things to be better than they turn out.

2016 will be no different in terms of expectations…..thats why WT supporters are dreamers and I am no different.

I think JT is a very smart bloke, but can he implement a winning culture in a team that does not know how to win consistently.....thats the big obstacle. Can he bring the players with him.....thats the big obstacle. Can they keep harmony within the club.....thats the big obstacle.

I'm not happy about some of the players they have let go, but in all honesty if players donot want to be at the Tigers.....do we really want them?????....probably not.

In the last few years we bought fringe players like Austin, Naiquama and Taupau and had good success from them although two have moved onto greener pastures. I really like the players we have bought for 2016....all players who have potential and looking for a life in the NRL. Those players should be hungry to succeed and I think we might be a bit of a surprise packet next year....no we won't win the GF or most likely even make the 8 but I have a feeling the Tigers might STAND UP next year.

We might look like a rabble of players ATM but there is also some real potential there.

A backline of Teddy, Nofo, Simona, Naquama, Addo Carr/Hunt, Moses & Brooks......we have seen what they can do on their day......just look what we did to the Bulldogs, Storm and Souths this year.

Any pack with Woods, Sue, Ava, Deano ( edwards & the ipswich boys ) will bring it IMO. Che Kam, Farah, Cherrington & Ballin......all have massive reasons to DO WELL.

We just need another season of luck with injuries but most importantly a team that players together, sticks together and players/management/coaching staff all on the same page. If that happens, we will improve.

........but if the fighting and bitching continues....it will get very ugly indeed.

My heart of heats tells me we may not appreciate what Taylor and the board is doing now , but in 3-5 years we will appreciate the garbage they had to put up with and the crap they had to fix

The old 5 year plan hey

Thats what most dud coaches say when first come in (Ricky)

No doubt they are doing some good clean up work with the Cap and Injuries etc.

But ultimately its about not finding excuses but finding a way to win games.

So they're doing all this for the fun of it? What do you think the goal of this shake up is? Anyone who is expecting immediate results is pulling themselves.

2017 I expect significant improvement as we have money to go to the market with.

so you expect coaches to walk in and turn things around within the year or what??

only people like bennet and Robinson have been able to do that and that's because their squads were exemplary to say the least (and they're better coaches than JT)

I will say that the years I have expected the most of WT, I have been most disappointed, and the years I have expected the least, often quite surprised.

I have no issue heading into a season with question marks on coach, players, depth, past results. We have never been a team to do well under external or internal expectations.

Can JT be the man to coach a successful season? Of course he can. It's not just about coaching ability, it's about luck and having things fall your way.

One thing all the twists and turns do is make a heady mix - maybe the outcome cannot be predicted, so roller coaster here we come. It will be a learning experience for other clubs as well what to do and what to avoid.

If a thread was created about Top 8 it was delusional to put it mildly.

Remember the team won a grand total of 8 games, equal that of last place. We were never in the hunt for the 8, it was all about starving off the spoon.

Singing songs on mad monday is probably a reflection on both the players and coach to be honest.

Luck?

I reckon thats what all the bad teams are thinking.

Its nothing to do with luck.

Let's hope so. Based on the pre season photos etc on the WT website, the guys look pretty fit anyway. The new Rugby recruit Jesse Parahi reminds me of a young Ray Price. If he's 50% as good we've got a winner there.

No.

Im just making a prediction based on what I can see in front of me.

I predicted Tapau would leave and people got angry , saying it was just gossip and people slinging mud on the club. I said some of his actions last season were that of a man that was not happy under Taylor and wanted out.

I hope im wrong but i dont like the vibe about the place at the minute.

Depends on who led who there. Within a year all the true gossip will be out. Then another 200 pages.

Tell me that again when games and even seasons can rest on the bounce of a rugby league football, or the impulse of a referee.

i reckon that had far more to do with money than not being happy

i agree the mood doesn't appear great but id argue that's just the media taking an easy target (us) and blowing things out of proportion.

if we start winning watch all that talk disappear in about 3 rounds.

Taylor said it himself last year, it is nothing to do with luck.

Nothing to do with the ref.

We need to be better, simple.

In the end the swings and roundabout you get what you deserve.

Eddie you are looking at lasts year's performance in a very negative perspective. Remember that teams finishing in 11th to 15 place each won a total of 9 wins only 1 more win than Wests Tigers. Have a look at the following finishing Table. Remember also that Wests Tigers lost their final match in golden point time against a semi-finalist team. If Wests Tigers win that that match they would have finished in 11th position due to a for and against which was superior to teams which finished in 11th to 14th position. As fans we should give credit where credit is due. Wests Tigers were in the hunt for a top 8 spot a few weeks before the end of the season.

9\. Sea Eagles 11 wins total 26 points
10\. Raiders 10 wins total 24 points
11.Panthers 9 wins total 22 points
12.Eels 9 wins total 22 points
13.Warriors 9 wins total 22 points
14.Titans 9 wins total 22 points
15.Wests Tigers 8 wins total 20 points
16.Knights 8 wins total 20 points

I don't think Taylor will see out his term , but I reckon someone else will pick up his baton and run with it

I'm not talking about 3-5 year plans , I'm saying that with hindsight many will see that what Taylor is attempting to do with a squad who still won't be ready to carry it out was the right thing

Sometimes whether people are ready or not , they need to be thrown in the deep end to see if they will sink or swim

We were equal last this year, so can only improve, I was sorry to see Tapau go, but also relieved that the club did not pay overs to keep him, this gives me hope that we only have to clean up the salary cap mess once and back on strong footing financially 2017

I think he can. I honestly have a lot of respect for the majority of what he implemented last year.

I think for our sakes as supporters he has to.

There are too many managers that take the easy road and perform short term cosmetic changes before moving on. I see JT as the guy who has the back bone to make the harder longer term decisions.

No one with brains will touch the Tigers if he gets punted before his time.

Should he have prodded the Farah Hornets nest so close to the end of last season… I'm seriously doubting it.

This is what gives me some hope. We need solid game plans and I pray that Taylor recognises his mistakes on that point. The thing is we need those young players to kick on.

no.

he doesnt have the people skills.he doesnt know how to manage strong personalities and has the personality of a brick.
