Looks like hard work mate ! I think I'll stick to driving the golf cart and drinking beer !

My favourite variation on golf was dart golf. Took some darts to the park near my house when I was a kid and proceeded to hurl them from one point to another. That tree over the other corner is a par 3… The roof on the play equipment is a par 2...

It was a fun game until I got hit in the arm by my friend. Luckily the darts were pretty blunt.

By the way….. This is a WestsTigers forrum. Why post a threat about a new phone?? Can't wait for 2015 season to start if this is what we are going to get. :unamused:

Mama, I'm thinking you're on a smartphone and you are reading "Hot Topics". I have made the same mistake in the past. I rarely get on the computer anymore for this forum - all on my dreaded iPhone 5\. I keep forgetting that Hot Topics covers every forum section.

Anyway, it's really good to see those knocking Tigermama about criticising the topic then those same people deliberately hijacking said topic.

Pity the mobile forum doesn't allow my iPhone to use emoji's cause this is where I would insert smiley faces

Hehehe

Does anyone here own a Galaxy Note?
I'm planning on getting next one when it comes out.
What are they like?
Only concern I have is it fitting in my pockets lol.

Several of my friends use them for work and love them, very handy, excellent screen and battery life, just not the most portable for putting in pockets. If you're wearing cargo pants or shorts you'll be fine, but if you're into those skinny jeans, start looking for body orfices to secrete it

You can actually get football shaped golf balls and in NZ is supposed to be popular to play a golf / lacrosse game using goal posts with these particular golf balls

Many years ago we had to tee off with a football shaped golf ball in a charity golf day and one member of the team had to tee off

Wondering if I can manage to get through the rest of my life without owning a mobile phone

Won a Green Label bottle of Johnny Walker for the longest accurate drive is the only reason it stood out

Cheers, I'm a uni student and some of the features of this new one look like they'd be very helpful.
One of them is that you can take a photo of something and if it has text in it you can convert that to text you can copy/paste into a document. This would be handy for those lectures where the lecturer goes so fast you don't have time to get all the notes down.
Cheers. Hopefully it will fit into my pockets. I only own 1 pair of skinny jeans, the rest of my stuff is pretty standard so it should be fine then.

Unless you're wanting the upgrade, or the big screen, I'd buy an older iPhone outright, with a prepaid sim like boost. Iphone 5 onward has enough oomph.
Few who give up windows for the Apple ecosystem go back.
Unless you like stuff that never works.
Or don't ever really intend to set up an email address on your phone.
.
"Windows failed to boot properly, and has started a repair process that will never ever ever ever in the history of man fix anything except a perfectly good mood…"

And Android is not much better.
What a mess the Google plus pages are.

Thanks, I really needed a good laugh.

Went and tried one out. The screen is too big to be able to hold and text in one hand. Pretty much a non-negotiable for me. Pass.

It's in the 'General Discussion" forum you know to discuss things in general that aren't necessarily footy related… :sign:

Thanks"Geo" Didn't realise that.

I've got a Note 2 and I love it. I'm not sure how much bigger the newer ones are but with mine the size hasn't really been an issue, but more of a positive. It fits comfortably into the pockets of most jeans/business pants. The camera quality is awesome and so is media playback.
The only reason I went for the Note was it was $15 a month cheaper than the current iPhone at the time. I'd be reluctant to go back to an iPhone after having the Note.

Foreveratiger,we can discuss cricket and golf,it's the offseason,if people want to critise us or have no interest then they don't have to open the thread. It will be Xmas before long and I'm planning to buy some presents already, are we allowed to discuss Xmas this far out or have I broken some rules here…....cheers..

I generally enjoy reading Tigermama posts, but there is some on here that are not interested on the topic but are quick to bring the person down that starts a thread.

True tiger I'm with you on this.

"Foreveratiger" let me clarify this for you. This topic was on the Weststigers discussion board, not the general discussion board when i clicked on it. Otherwise i wouldn't have clicked on it. Obviously now its been moved to it's right place. And my comment was not a put down on any individual. I was expressing surprise. By the way, i too enjoy reading your posts. Keep them coming :sunglasses:

How stupid are some people? One guy who bought a 6 Plus said he had his phone in his pocket for 10 hours a day and sat for most of that time.

I watched the Youtube video where a guy actually bent his 6 Plus on purpose. Boy it took some effort, too. I was surprised the screen didn't crack.

I'm thinking of getting the 6 and giving wifey my iPhone 5.

CQ,I watched the local news tonight and could not believe the people handing over hundreds of dollars for what seems absolute crap, wouldn't you think Apple did a quality control assessment before releasing the bloody thing…........

I don't think the new iPhone is that bad TT. Yep its not cheap but the others aren't either.

I do think though that Apple hasn't been as good since Jobs. Tim Cook doesn't seem to have Jobs strict "get it right, or else" attitude.
