Is Braith really going to be captain??

Anasta or Blair!
Before I get hammered, Blair not that long ago was the VC for New Zealand, he's a good leader, leaders do the 1%s well and so does he plus all the young islanders we have look up to him.
But I think anasta will get it and fair enough he is an excellent leader

Anasta has my vote we need experience out there , I also feel Anasta is better for Brooks as he guides around the park better than Austin.

Slot Austin into Hooker Bwaif back to 5/8 , with Austin passing game and speed of the mark he could cause a lot of headaches out of dummy half with our forwards paving the way up the middle of the ruck.

It probably has to be Anasta. I like Austin in the team but the tackling requirements of the hooking role are probably beyond him, and would certainly blunt his attacking ability.

Richards was at the PC last night as Farah and Fulton were both injured.

I assume Braith would be there but I would love to see Fulton lead the team out. The guy thoroughly deserves it

Considering Brooks and Austin show'd last night they are not ready to lead or direct the team around the park, its really a no brainer.

Anasta will be first man picked this week!

I really am stunned that most people would opt for Anasta. On two counts I don't think he is in our best 17, and i think their are more inspirational candidates. Especially over a guy like Fulton, who has spilt blood and guts for the club over a number of years.

Braiths stats against Manly - 8 tackles, 1 run, 9 metres, 2 errors.

Is this the sort of experience that we need? These are the sort of stats he puts on the board regularly over the past 2-3 years. Im sorry i like a captain to lead with the front with their actions. Ask Roosters fans about his captaincy. He didn't lead that at all well for 5 years, had a 3 month good patch in 2010.

Its like the Lucas Neill argument. Bloke has been playing like a hack for 3-4 years but he keeps getting picked due to his experience. I don't buy into it. All i care about are performances whether your 17 or 34.

I just think he gets a lot of credit for not doing much on the field. We did not miss him at all last night. Austin gave us 3 genuine points of attack. Does anyone agree with me?!

Im still stunned on peoples views on Anasta

Must be the same people that claimed we would go backwards without him last night. Lets just see how it plays out but I expect rough times if he is named captain and takes on a bigger role in attack.

People must have loved his game against Manly. 1 run, 8 yards, 8 tackles, 2 errors. DOnt worry I could find you 10 + games over the past 2 seasons where his stats are similair.

"but he guided Brooks" I suppose and "his talk and experience was a factor" Thats all i here!

Wow I just think Austin has it all over him. We looked a threat in attack last night despite missing Teddy. Now Farah's out and people want to put the slow 5.8 back in that is about 3-4 years past his prime.

I could not care less who gets the captaincy. If Woods or Fulton get it due to experience and loyalty then so be it. No-one could begrudge them that right.

But IMO Anasta has the experience on the board to run a team around the park. He wont be overshadowed by the occasion and he has runs on the board. Plus he can absorb pressure whilst less experienced players around him do their job.

We loose less by Anasta being Captain then we do by giving it to a younger squad member.

You have to earn it!!

I have to say im with Eddie and Stryker.I think we should pick our best 17 players available and then pick the captain.Anasta would not be in that 17 for mine.

Anasta is done…he should recieve one behind the ear as early as tomorrow.

Why is that? Even though I'm not a fan of the bloke he has been doing a good job this season thus far. I also have a feeling this year won't be his last.

Meh. ..I run 9 meters.4 tackles blah blah blah

He's doing his job/role whatever that is…they all.are...ppl relying solely on stats make me laugh...Low. stats from Anasta sees the rest of this gun back line get more ball after our pigs have done their thing

Who'd whinge about that?
He's not stifling Brooks. ..he's not over playing his hand...he's feeding his backs well

He's been there and done it...no probs with him getting it

Woods is a kid... (c) s pick themselves really and if a coach has to think hard about this choice there's really no one suitable...woods is a pup in this regard still

I'd like to see Blair get it....it's only till Farah back but I think it could benefit Adams game with lots of young polys in the team

People are worried about our attacking options over the next 6 weeks

Wouldn't it be easier to concentrate on a defence orientated style of game , try and keep teams to under 12 points

If we can do that (which as we showed on Saturday , we can do ) we will win a few games over the next few weeks

If it was my choice for a skipper I'd go Fulton

My believe a leader should lead by " do as I do , not as I say "

If we follow Fulton's example we give ourselves a fighting chance every week and that's all we can ask of the boys

Ageed, but with Anasta doing so little going by the stats, maybe we can put a chair on the field and he can become a second coach.

Id expect him to get off his bum from time to time though.

Went through all the posts and its a consistent thread for a 4 way gig

-Woods
-Fluton
-Braith
-Blair

Some want one while others hate the other..

There are a few things to consider,
1) Ideally captain will need to spend bulk of the time on the park otherwise we need a VC so the refs can gruel him for penalties

2) Experience is another factor. Hayne is a whinging captain - we dont want that.

3)How the person carries himself, both on and off field. Isnt Fulton a full time comedian ??
