Is Brooks the worst defender in the NRL?

I have seen worse arm and jersey grabbing from Kyle Lovett

And i suppose Brooks gets a lot more traffic his way due to his sheer size. He is bound to miss a lot more tackles too

He needs someone like a Gareth Ellis to to protect him

What the hell, both Brooks and Mosses do need the forwards to protect them
That will help build their confidence

At the time the rumour was floating i said no but now we need Beau Scott.

Sue to defend with Moses and Scott with Brooks, would have made a major difference.

I don't think so. He bounces off more than he should, he tackles well when he gets decent position, he has a bit of a technical issue when they catch him slightly out of position and has to change direction he loses balance and power by having his feet a bit close and gets a little far away from the attacker. I

lol i got 3 negative votes for saying this in a different thread man watch out those 2 are untouchable.

Brooks and Moses aren't afraid to have a go but when isolated against guys weighing 20 kg more it's only going to end one way.

Dugan did that to Moses the other night. He ran across half the length of the field, as if he was looking for him.

It was more like 3/4 of the way across the field Gunners.

The most disappointing thing about that, Is he ran past all our most experienced players - And the only one to come out and have a go at him was Moses.

There's 32 Starting halves in the Competition this year, And there would be lucky to be half a dozen that can tackle… JT has won 4 Dally M's and couldn't tackle to save his first born. I remember watching Benji run over the top of Soward again and again in the 2011 Final...

I don't believe our halves not being able to tackle is the problem, They're not there to tackle... When you're halves are making more tackles than your centre / backrowers - There's the problem!!

They need a damaging back rower there to support them (Like every other half in the comp)
They need NRL quality centres (Not Wingers come Centres)

Can you imagine Brooks coming through with a Thaiday / Hodges, Or a Watmough / Matai... Imagine we had a 2010 Gareth Ellis out there - This would be a non discussion.

Halves can't tackle, Instead of trying to turn them into Tackling Machines.... Get some quality around them - So they don't have to tackle.
Then watch them boys open up the throttle in attack.

Good point.

I raised the stat in another thread, without checking the exact details, Moses (games = 24) made more tackles than any of Siro (19), Lawrence (19) or Ava (23).
