I'd love to see how we go as a club franchise whatever it is we are…..with a board, CEO and coach all on the same page, all with the same goals

@jirskyr said:A mate of mine had a chat with Humpty the other day. Humpty said he doesn't like the way all this has played out in public, but the club can't gag players and it becomes difficult when journos get a sniff and start speculating left, right and centre. The club is being bombarded for information when they haven't even finalised their plans yet, and he doesn't want to give the media a running commentary about the internal functioning of the club.
Humpty also said running a footy club isn't like a regular business, there is often very little time to react to situations and pieces are moving all the time. Imagine a business where the media are in your office 5 days a week, when employees regularly get injured for long periods, when your shareholders crave constant news and spectacle.
Personally, just because this played out in the media doesn't mean Humphreys isn't good at his job. We have several high-profile media personalities and they spoke out. All this to and fro about promises and missed contracts is a combination of speculation and one-sided stories; the people who have spoken publicly are obviously going to spin it to their own tune. If players had instead handled this quietly and internally, like Farah, we wouldn't be having this media frenzy.

Sounds like a normal day at the office for any decent CEO
@Black & Gold said:We have the most incompetant CEO in the business.
Stephen Humphreys MUST stand down or be sacked.
@Tigerpete said:I'm still of the belief that Humphreys should not cop the amount of blame that he has in all this. Yes he is the CEO of the club and certain things have happened that shouldn't have. But these circumstances haven't always been things he's ever been able to control. The way the media works, particularly social media, it moves so fast. Players are so accessible as well.
Truth is there's fault in all the players in this saga. CEO, coach, board, coaching staff, players, departed players. There lies blame on each one of them for this mess. Even the media hasn't helped things either. All that though is irrelevant now. What's happened has happened and i'm more interested in what Humphreys does next. This is his chance to really cement his leadership on the club.
