Is there anyone left who supports Sheens?

I have read alot since yesterday's loss and I have not seen a single post that supports Sheens.

At the game yesterday there was alot of ill feeling in the Brewongle stand, most of it directed towards Sheens.

So, is there anyone left on this forum who still supports Sheens, and still thinks Sheens is the man that should be coaching this club? Or has the final straw been drawn and everyone has finally had enough?

I do…as he has faith in Marshall and Farah.....can't be too bad Huh...

To be honest Hybrid I still support him, but if… come Tuesday afternoon / evening and he announces a side without changes after appologising I will find it hard to any longer...

I am an optimistic person and while we have the playing roster we have... I believe we can really shake this comp. That said, when players run out and play as they did against south scum... we will be in for another long season.

Benji for mine is playing too wide now, but my biggest problem is with Farah. For mine he takes the wrong option 9/10 times and I believe it is obvious he is stearing the side away from Marshall... past that being insanely pety... more often than not... the otherside consists of Blake Ayshford and the other bloke (no longer can i utter his name)

I am indifferent to Sheens at the moment.

The biggest problem I have seen with Sheens this season, even bigger than selections, is his delegation of major responsibilites to Royce & Gentle. He is simply not involved enough in the nuts and bolts of it all for mine. He issues plans and I do not know what accounting procedures he has in place to make sure things are getting done.

Also I am waiting until about round 15 to assess the side overall. Folkes trained sides have a history on a month to 6 weeks of flat football around the rep season because of the workload he places on them in the off season.

Attitude is something Tim should be managing though and that can only be achieved it seems with this side by a round of demotions for a week or two. Nothing else has worked.

I do fear that maybe he is out of ideas though.

For now I support him in as much as I would love him to get right in there and force a turnaround in attitude and performance. As far as extension goes I said last year nothing should have been entertained until at least round 20 of this season

I don't think you can lay the blame squarely at Sheens feet for yesterdays performance. AS a team they were terrible. When you can't even catch the ball from the opening kick off (and not the first time we have done that this season) you are just not in the right frame of mind to play footy. Follow that up with a kick out on the full and confidence just dropped.

Having said that I agree that changes need to be made but not sure it wil get done.

im still a Sheens supporter… do i think he can coach.. Yes i do.. Do i think he is one of the best coaches in the game .... Yes i do... do i think it is time for a new coach...im starting to think that way..

Not because i think he is bad at coaching.. but time for a change maybe what is needed... new ideas ..

if i were the Tigers Mgt, id pay what ever they need to get Gus Could.. if not im now pretty convinced that Nathan Brown could be good for the club

I think Tim Sheens was one of the best coaches in the game before 1996\. It is clear the game has changed alot since then and he has not moved along with it.

Since then his record is 1 finals series in 15 seasons and a win record of below 40%. Yes he won a premiership with us but that was an anomaly surrounded by pure and utter crap.

I've said all along that the signs were there in 2007, he should have been moved on at the end of that season.

T Rex as you know I have been on Sheens case for years, but I agree with you, yes he is a good coach, but the magic is gone in tiger town and a change is needed urgently and like you Brown would be my first up choice. It will not happen, the tigers board will show loyalty to Sheens and with very little cap space nothing much will change in the near future

I agree that new ideas and new methods are needed. I'm still very susceptible that there has been any improvement in the team's mental strength. They still cannot play for 80 minutes and the overall execution of the team is alarmingly poor, as is the body language amongst the players. They do not look confident in what they are doing and the losing streak has created an awful lot of self doubt in the team.

Sheens came out at the start of this season and said the team motto this season is "From fulltime to professional". IMO discipline breeds professionalism and the discipline shown by the Tigers is not good enough for what a fulltime Rugby League club should be instilling in its players. Change is required, whether it be by the current coach or instilled by a new coach and coaching system.

The language from the Brewongle Stand was just as poor as the performance on the field!!!

I'm still a fan of Sheens and his ability. But, I also have concerns that he isnt getting the players onto the field with the right mental approach.

We have the Skill.
We have the Players.
We have the Set Plays.
We have 'mongrel' in Defence.

We dont have mental preparation and this needs to change??!!!

Starting to believe that Sheens has over stayed his tenure. He has had the same base, the same nucleus of players for a good 7 years. Too much repetition can be detrimental to a football side regardless of who is brought in or shipped out of a squad. Wests ave changed their training with the exit of Mescia and entry of Folkes.

However, strength, conditioning, fitness does not assist the mentality of players in regards to execution of attack and defence. That is a mental battle, one that occurs through the preparation, planning and strategy of the Head Coach. The Tigers players are not responding. Be it through one of two things. The current formula that has been persisted with for the past 2 months can not put it together because of weaknesses in key positions. Lack of go forward and not having a specialist halves pairing are both equally significant reasons enough. Secondly, the game plan(s) set by Sheens are not working and there is no contingency when the going gets tough. Either scenario rests solely on the shoulders of Coach Tim Sheens.

It's time he either fell on his sword or did the unthinkable and rewarded players on form from the NYC U/20's and NSW Cup accordingly who could very well bolster the Wests Tigers performance. Players like Mullaney, Pritchard, Taumata, Mataka, Gower, Davis, Schirnack for name sake deserve a shot. 4 losses and a 50 point shellacking is more than reason enough to throw some dynamic, enthusiastic players that will grab the opportunity with both hands. History has shown over the past 4 years that Wests finish their seasons strongly which has come on the back of Coach Tim Sheens making necessary changes that should have been made much earlier in the year.

Will Wests Tigers have to wait till Round 18, 19 or 20 to see these changes occur or can these changes be made now to help get the club's 2010 campaign back on track? I'm not holding my breath

I know Sheens has signed a contract extention for 1 more season but i just want to ask everyone a couple of questions.

1.If we don't make the finals for the 5th season in a row, will Sheens be sacked or do you think he is man enough to walk away?

2.On the flip side if we somehow mange to make the finals, would you be happy for Sheens to see out his contact?

I dropped Sheens at the end of the 07 season with 6 season tickets and no merchandise bought since I will not support this club financially until SHEENS IS GONE and I,m aware of quite a few others with my view.

i support him…apart from his bench selection he still has a lot to offer to the club...the problem with this forum is that most of us always look for a scapegoat! last year it was beau ryan and not that we cant blame him, if its not fitzhenry its sheens..though ive noticed that its been changing on a weekly basis between the two. This week it has changed to farah and marshall! sheens isnt on the field. he cant make the team peform if they dont want to! this week bar a couple players the whole team performance was disgusting! no body language at all! when benji kicked the 40/20 it looked like they had just condeded the 40/20! no congratulations, no high fives and no one even rushing to pack the scrum!! i hope they get a killer week at training cause they definitely deserve it!

If they don't make the finals this year Sheens will walk.

thats just being Petty and spoilt brat type of attitude…. but if tht is the case.. the club doesnt need members like u.. simple..

i support the club win or loose.. i guess that makes the difference between a true supporter and ones who only willing to support them while they are winning
