Is this goodbye Utai and Tuqiri

Does this spell goodbye for the likes of Lote and Utai?

Koro put in a much better defensive effort last night, his positional play was greatly improved and Nofo seems to have settled in just fine. Nofo reminds me of Lawrence when he first started, quick, strong and determined.

With Chris Lawrence and Blake Ayshford to return i doubt we will be seeing Utai back.
And Richards arriving next year certainly spices things up too ..

I would hang onto Reddy but if i was Utai or Tuqiri i would be more than concerned about my playing future.

its the changing of the guard.
the " experienced elders" making way for youthful exuberance.
we need to realise and accept that, some errors make occur whilst they continue to grow into their relevant positions.

At least when the high ball heads to Nofo I don't need to grab the oxygen mask like I did for Utai , I would say its the end barring injuries for both of them and so it should be they have had their time I would say it will be also the end for either Lawrence or Ayshford.

I love Utai but I couldn't put him back on the wing. I think you have to leave those 3 there. I can't see a spot for Moltzen either.

Well we know they wont get re signed so its there last year this year we need to look for the future now and were going to have a great backline in the future.

No doubt Lawrence will come straight back in for Simona, and there is a question mark if Reddy offers more than Ayshford in the Right Centre position.

I cant see Tuqiri taking Koroibete's Wing, and I think Nofoamluma is showing he is more than ready to play. Where does that leave Utai & Reddy? I'd say Richards spells the end for both at seasons end.

They have all contributed in some fashion to our Club, but unfortunately I'd say its time to go Reddy, Utai & Tuqiri…

I think you can add lawrence and ayshford to that list. If lawrence comes straight back for reddy or simona i'll be pretty pissed off. Reddy has been solid all year and simona, although he can make a few errors, has shown more flair and speed than lawrence has in 18 months. These players have to earn their way back into the side.

Ayshford was playing good football and Lawrence is a recent test player they will be straight back in Ayshford on form and Lawrence on reputation - plus it's not like Reddy or Simona have done anything special .

I agree too .. IMO reddy has been a very consistent performer week in week out.
Simona has the pace but i have noticed in a few games he hogs the ball too, he rather run himself than pass it too Koro who as well all know is the quickest of the lot.

I was surprised when Simona actually did give him the ball last night which led to the try.

Ayshford has line breaks in him and Reddy solid defence.. Otherwise they are even par in skills

I think Utai and Tuqiri were goners regardless of what Nofo and Koro have done this season. Koro seems a work in progress. Such raw freakish ability. His downsides are fixable. He's just too talented to keep out. Nofo, I agree, he does remind me of Lawry with his determination, his confidence, lack of fear and tackle busting ability. The future has arrived…..ahead of schedule.

Interesting thought - Utai and Tuqiri aside….

With Koro Pretty much cementing his place in the First Grade Squad, and Nofo already looking like he fits into the team, where does it leave Pat Richards?

Lets say Nofo keeps playing consistent footy. Gets better with confidence, and brings some of his known Aggression from the under 20's. Keeps defusing bombs and breaking tackles.

By seasons end he'd have approx 18-20 games under his belt - really becomes a first grader.

Does Pat Richards then just walk into the team?

That's a great question regarding Richards , that's why I personally think some big names will get the chop. Will be interesting times ahead not a bad position to be in as long as we don't have to pay their contracts while they will be playing for other teams.

I don't see the benefit of the Pat Richards Recruitment. His form in ESL doesn't translate to the NRL. Fringe first graders like Rangi Chase have been regarded as the best player in the competition. Was he a gun winger 7 years ago - yes. Are Nofo and Koro the future - yes.

Big Pat will be the left centre.

What experience does he have as a centre? I always thought he was a specialist winger, who could fill in as a fullback when needed. An NRL standard centre needs to be at a certain standard defensively.

He wouldn't be any worse defensively than Jennings, J. Morris and Ferguson who will all supposedly play Origin this year. Would you leave him out of our team so that we can watch Lawrence flounder for another coupla years? Coz I can't see Richards getting Koro's left wing spot.

Jennings has been strong defensively all year, Morris is also a noted defender. Ferguson is learning how to play centre in the NRL and if picked for SOO will be on the wing. I just don't think it is that easy to play centre late in your career when it is not your position. I think Lawrence will never recapture the form he had a few years back and i think Simona is the long term soloution to centre
