It is time for SHEENS to go.

Y**ep,I should have used the qualifier"recently successful" for NRL coaches too..I mean Daniel Anderson was successful too at some stage ,& Jason taylor,Niel Henry & mathew Elliot wld have been considered successful at different times, but all have blotted their copybook with subsequent & more recent coaching gigs.**
Unlike Brown & Gentles who are coming off success.
Im a little more acceptable of Folkes cf other 1st grade coaches as firstly, the Board can see 1st hand his current contribution to WT & coaching potential,& secondly he was simply burnt out at Dogs & I can account for his demise to an extent.

Sounds like youre describing Sheens

Gee I sort of wish that Royce Simmons didn't prematurely leave to coach St Helens, by the way I would prefer the title of this thread to read 'Is It time for Sheens to go'!?.

I reckon an announcement is imminent and wouldn't be surprised if Sheen's has coached a WT's team for the last time.

Folkes to take over immediately.

Has Elliot been punted ?

No, but Sheen's would be asked to sit out the season I reckon. It may explain why the boys were flat last week.

Did a bit of sniffing around at work today and heard that a few of the senior players wernt to happy with the braindead comment by Sheens after the Titans match…..as for a new coach I got the Ricky Stuart tip....If I were Humfries I would be waving one of Harries big cheques at Gus,you wont know until you inquire...but if that fails Rick Stone from the Knights...as for Folkes,Brown or Gentle...no thanks!

Wasn't there rumours about sticky prior to Sheens' most recent extension. I seem to remember one of the boards (or was it benny) having informal talk with him

If Sheens wants Moltzen as the Tigers long-term fullback well he may as well go to Penrith now and hand the reins over to Gentle.

Willow that comment is unlike "Willow"…but then again I have to agree with you...What does Sheens see in Moltzen as a F/B I just don't know.....come to think about it...if Sheens does leave I certainly wont miss his ideals around "manufacturing fullbacks and halfbacks"...over the years he has shown to have failed in the area...Farah, Morris, Moltzen and for a while Marshall....Tim...your spine should **ONLY ever** have specialist players in their rightful positions!!.....

I feel for the next coach to come in.

As it is the **lunatics seem to run the asylum to a degree at WT**. Too many players too comfortable with too much say in the team.

I can see us having to use one coach for cannon fodder after Sheens leaves to cut the dead wood and poor attitudes that may occur when real pressure is applied

bingo…..somehow lost in all off this...

lets just get back to winning football games huh

Please be true, that would make my year, also Sheens took no blame for the Titans loss, and called the players brain dead, his team selections severly hamper our chances of winning, yet he will never admit this.

rubbish making more exuses up for why we were flat, the dragons with Bennett didn't care about him leaving the last few weeks

omg are you serious…. its a gee up ....royce simmons .....what and get more of the same ......
sheens called our players brain dead after the titans loss .... well i thought sheens game plan was gutless in that game ... all the good sides would have belted the titans but we closed up shop ... we need a new coach who wont be affraid to bruise some egos ....make some hard decisions and move on some of the players who have become sheens security blanket .......

And why would he we were in front 14-nil and lost it from simple errors that junior kids would be upset with.

Oh let me guess it was his tactics….ok coach tell us where hes going wrong.

851 IF YOU PICKED A TEAM TOMMOROW you would have 95% of the players that sheens or his staff discovered way before we knew about them.

How predictable as i go to send this up comes tiger tiger commenst and low And behold it was sheens tactics that let us down.So funny when i hear the old it was the tactics it was the bench blab= bla bla bla

Before I throw my 2 bobs in I want to state that sheens has done a great job building the club into what it is today, and needs to be comended. Developing the club with our juniors and from what it was in 02 to today was due to his experience and knowledge.

Having said that if he chose to go to the panthers i don't think it would be all that bad.

A few points I would like to bring up for discussion in regards to choices I feel he made wrong are (and this is purely my opinion only):

Letting Brett Hodgson go!! All the talk was we could not afford him at the time and he was to old, yet we've spent big on lote and gareth aswell as extended other players contracts since and hodgo has gone great guns in the uk and so has Pat Richards who we also let go. Losing their experience has been massive.

Which brings me to my next point, experience. Since we lost hodgo, skando, oneil and Richards, we have not actively looked for an experience player to add to our roster. I really feel that not having a veteran in the forwards or backs has proven to be why we haven't consistently made the 8\. And can not understand why Tim has not done better to add experience to such a young side. Someone like Petro, Dallas Johnson or Jeremy smith would do wonders for our young team. Instead signed players like Moores, Cayless, Daniella, Flanagan, Tupou.

And finally sheens bizarre team selections. I will never understand why sheens persisted with fitzhenry for so long, and more recently why he has played players out of position, and persisted with some and not others ie moltzen, who has been out of form but kept in the team, whilst dropped woods who was constantly our best in the early rounds!!

I think a change might just be the shake up and the catalyst this team needs. Folkes might go alright with his discipline or even getting Elliott would not be to bad. Either way I will still be 100% behind the tigers and really hope we fulfill our potential before it's to late.

I have been following the tigers all my life and in my opinion Tims Sheens should become the joe paterno of Rugby League but with the tigers. This man gave us a premiership and has also made 1st graders out of 95% of our players. If Sheens goes this team will break apart. These guys play for the man, and we supporters need to realise when we critisise the coach we also critisize the players. Look at benji, Robbie, Chris H, Keith, Liam, Bryce, Chris L, Andrew, Dwyer, Woods etc etc etc If we don't back our coach these players who he developed will go elsewhere as will our seniors. 2 Million over 5years is peanuts give him 4 million for 8 years to see out the players he developed careers. This is a wise investment because good players will want to come here and play for the tigers and we will develop a winning culture. It is Imperative to keep Tim Sheens at the wests tigers

What about Lote & Gareth as you refer to earlier (+ Lolesi, Utai, Head, Moodie etc… we have tried to resurrect careers of "experienced players" - mainly to our detriment)!!!

The likes of Petero come at a huge price - & I wouldn't supplant any of our back-rowers to provide Dallas Johnson a retirement home (although he could teach Dwyer how to tackle)!!!

Hodgo was struggling physically in his final year with us - & his game is far better suited to the SL for his longevity if nothing else!!!

I didn't mean resurrect a career by buying and older player. I meant buying and experienced leader still playing great footy who could pass on their experience onto our young team. Lolesi, Head, Moodie were all just looking for a 1 year deals to help them with retirement!! Look what Petro did for the Panthers last year, Johnson this year for the cowboys and to a lesser extent Jeremy Smith. All young teams going better than they did before these players came to the club.

When Hodgson left he was still playing great footy, won the man of steel award the following year and is still playing good footy now 3 years on, and a player the younger guys respected.
